The Magic of Kashmir valley

High in the Himalayas mountains is one of the most beautiful pearls of India - the Kashmir valley. Situated between the Great Indian Himalayan Range and the Karakoram Range, the valley is a magnet for every tourist traveling in any Himalayan direction. The cleanest lakes, breathtaking Himalayan ranges, wide green meadows, vibrant gardens, religious places and unearthly natural beauty amaze everyone. The beauty of these places has long been sung by poets, and the great emperor Mogul Jahangir was so impressed by the sight of the valley that he called her "Paradise on Earth". 

The valley of Kashmir is known, first of all, thanks to its natural beauty. Its attractions, in particular, picturesque surroundings, gardens, markets and other places for adventure give visitors a lot of new impressions. Here you can go hiking in the local natural beauties, swim by boat on a crystal lake, pamper yourself in a luxurious high mountain resort and participate in the lives of local people, visiting the blooming and breathing life of the market. 

The nature of this region is truly divine and it is not surprising that legends are about this blessed place. For example, many great names are associated with the valley of Kashmir, such as the biblical Aaron, Moses and Solomon (one of the hills is called the "Throne of Solomon"). There is evidence that the body of Jesus Christ himself rests in the center of Srinagar in the tomb of Rosabal. 

However,  there is another remarkable feature of this valley, almost unknown to travelers visiting it, but familiar to locals who call it the "Feast of Vair" - that is, the "Sanctuary of the Saints". So the inhabitants of the valley denote the numerous mausoleums of the great Sufis, who became famous in their time for South-East Asia. In the valley there are many mosques and mausoleums erected in honor of these famous masters.

The  valley is also sacred to the adherents of Hinduism and Buddhism. There were created great texts of Hinduism Saiva and Vaishnava, as well as Buddhist spiritual writings

Near the southern beach of Palolem there are several beautiful and tourist beaches, they are close to each other, so most of them can be walked around. 

Agonda Beach

Three kilometers of sand and warm sea. There are few people on the Agonda beach, and the abundance of neck and other tourist joys makes you feel very comfortable.

Butterfly Beach

The Butterfly Beach is the easiest way to get to the water, the beach is small and the tourists do not stay there for long, although the beach looks very beautiful.

Palolem Beach

Palolem Beach has the shape of an ideal crescent, the waves in this natural bay are insignificant and all tourists with small children appreciate it very much. On the beach Palolem excursions are carried out and it is worth to give due to the beach it deserves. In the recent past, these places did not think about the tourist boom, and the only thing the local people did was fishing. 

Colombes Beach 

The beach of Colomb is very similar to the island of Robinson Crusoe, only instead of Friday there are crowds of tourists. A very small beach between two rocks on which the bungalows are huddled. 

Patnem Beach

Beach Putnem is a quieter analog of Palolem beach, not so beautiful, not so popular, but very calm. Sheki, bungalows for rent and other benefits of civilization are present in abundance.

 Rajbag Beach 

Rajbag beach is suitable for wealthy tourists, on its shore is located one of the most expensive hotels in South Goa. There are dangerous currents in the sea, so be careful. 

Still to the south there are several unpopulated beaches, to reach which it is not so simple, and the lack of infrastructure makes recreation on them very specific. Here are the southernmost beaches of Goa: Talpona, Galdjibaga, Paul

Gir National Park is the sole home for pure Asiatic lions, situated about 65 Kilometers south east of Junagarh district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Primarily the park was dedicated to conserve the Asiatic Lion which is identified as world most endangered species. Nowadays, Gir has evolved as a stable ecosystem due to richness if biodiversity with its 606 different plant species, 2000 species of insects and 36 species of mammals and over 300 species of birds.

Some information about  Jim Corbett National Park Hunter and author Jim Corbett was known to have single-handedly brought down many man-eaters, and these tales later became popular books also authored by him. But a true wildlife lover and conservationist at heart, Corbett felt greatly for these mighty beasts.So, it wasn't surprising to learn that he had an important role to play in the establishment of this national park, now one of the oldest in India.The park is made up of five zones — Jhirna, Bijrani, Dhikala, Durgadevi and Sitavani — and it's in these zones where one can chance upon the Royal Bengal tiger, ,leopards, hog deer, otters, cheetal, jungle cat, sloth bears, barking deer and other animals. The unique Museum of Christian Art is located in the monastery of St Monica in the area of Old Goa

It is a monument to the Portuguese era in Goan history (1627-1961). Here you can find wonderful collection of statues, paintings and sculptures, which were created in the upper mentoied time period. Moreover, some of the exhibits were also created by local hindu artists.

The museum is located in front of the ruins of the tower of St Augustine in Old Goa. You can travel to the museum bus if you are willing to take a short walk from Old Goa. Most tourists travel to this place by private vehicles.

The museum is open everyday from 9.30 am to 5 pm

Hi travelers! We’d like to tell you about another interesting goan place. The Arvalem or Harvalem waterfalls, which cascades down the 50 meter height mountains, is one of the most amazing spots. It is situated along the road of Mayem Lake in about 2 km from the small town of Sanquelim and 8 km from Bicholim, in North Goa. The Government has also developed a park, from which the view of the waterfall can be peacefully relished. You can also find the Rudreshwar temple nearby. The temple holds importance for the Hindus, who believe in releasing the soul on the 12th day after death. Located in a short 10-minute drive from Sanquelim, the Harvalem Waterfalls are worth visiting after the monsoon (in October) when they cascade noisily through the surrounding trees. However, during the dry winter the flow is reduced to a trickle. You can get to the Sanquelim village by taxi from Canacona for 1600-2000 Rp (one way). Have a nice trip!

Spice plantation

A bit of information for beginners in Goa. There are o lot of amazing places to visit. If you can’t decide which one is better, no doubt, you should go to the Tropical Spice Plantation (TSP) TSP is located in Keri village of Ponda taluka in South Goa (29 km from Panaji).It can also be reached from Margao. You will be introduced to the famous All Spice plant, which has aroma and taste of five spices. Around the Spice Plantation you will see Goa's traditional Plantation, Tropical tress like Cashew, Arecanut, Betelnut, Palm trees and Tropical Fruit like Star fruit, Jack Fruit Custurd, Apple, Bananas, Papaya and Pineapple. You can also see different types of Citrus Fruits. It is better to take a regular tour in Panaji or Margao. The price for tourists is about 500 Rp including lunch and symbolic gifts. Separately one can pay for elephant riding and bathing with elephants — 600 Rp. But you can also get the TSP by your own way. You can travel by car or take taxi in Panaji for 600 Rp both sides. Rivona

Aren’t you able to choose the next place to travel to? =) Well, here is some information about Rivona caves.

It is also known as the Pandava caves, which are situated in the village of Rivona in South Goa at about 5 km northeast of Ponda. They are considered to be dug in the 6th or 7th century by the Buddhist monks. At the Buddhist caves at Rivona one can see a "Pitha", which is carved out of laterite and is believed to have served as the seat for the teacher. The caves are also considered to be one of the few examples of Buddhist influence visible in Goa today. To get to Rivona is however quite easy as by road, Rivona is connected with Quepem and Margao. You can take a taxi from Margao for  around 200-300 Rp and you will reach Rivona in 40 minutes. The caves at Rivona are fairly unknown and one may have to ask around a bit to get the right direction.

Hampi

The next place which we suggest to visit in India is Hampi

It is a heritage village in the Vijaynagara city of North Karnataka. 'Hampi' means «champion» and it is located in the ruins of the ancient city Vijaynagara. The ruins of Hampi is the part of UNESCO World Heritage. Hampi is a charming and spectacular place with the atmosphere from the 16th century. This place unaffected by time and the onward march of civilization. 

There are a lot of things to do and it should definitely be on your itinerary if you are not willing to end your vacation in Goa.

You can get Hampi  by train from Margao (one hour from Palolem). It takes about 7.5 hrs and would cost around 900 Rs both sides. The quickest way is taxi. It takes about 5-6 hrs with the rate of  11000 - 14000 Rs.  

You can also get Hampi by Sleeper bus from Chaudi (10 min from Palolem) for 2400 Rs both sides

Today we will start to post  the information about the most popular places in India. Well, lets get to this point starting from Dudhsagar. Have you ever heard about it? It is a definitely worth spot to visit during the season. It is a beautiful waterfall as a part of  Mandovi river located just about 60 km from Panaji.

The best way to get there is by taxi as it faster but you can also take a train. The good thing about the railroad that is passes very close to the falling water. So you can feel how it knocks the roof

Another amazing you should visit !!!

Did you  heard about The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) ? It is great place for a day trip.

Cotigao is a city near Poinguinim in About 9km southeast of Palolem.  Close to Cotigao is situated Goa’s second-largest sanctuary. CWS is a home to different species of plants, birds and wild animals. Flora of the sanctuary comprise moist deciduous trees, semi-evergreen trees, and evergreen trees.

If you like to take photo, there are two forest watchtowers, which open a great view on Indian nature and sea.

The CWS is most accessible, if you have your own transport.  It is quite close to national highway 17. Take the Panjim to Margao road (32 km), onto Canacona (36.8 km) and further down for seven km on NH17 upto Poinguinim. At the left is a bold entrance board to the sanctuary. Opening hours are between 7AM and 5.30PM. Also you can take taxi in Chaudi for 290 RP. This way,  you will get the CWS after 45 min.

Have you ever heard about Cabo de Rama Fort?  It is the largest and one of the oldest fortresses in Goa.

The fortress was built by Hindu rulers many years ago but it was used by so many other rulers such as Muslims, Portuguese and English who changed each other in different periods of dramatic history. The fortress has a deep silent memory of a few important battles from Indian history. 

 Nevertheless, Cabo de Rama Fort is a very attractive touristic attraction nowadays and You can visit it with no entree charge.

 The journey  from Palolem to Cabo de Rama by scooter takes just about an hour and is very easy. You can also get there by a regular bus  from Margao (Madgaon station) or by car through NH66 Highway-Fatorpa road. The taxi cost is  around 600 rad.

 The best time to visit Cabo de Rama is an early morning or an evening because it is very hot in the afternoon there. You can also find a well near the church which is the best reward after a hot journey.
