Baby, It's Cold Outside || Harrison and Travis
Compliment received. Error; does not compute. To reset Harrison’s mind, slap his face. Although, he’s not exactly sure that that would work. To shut him up , yeah, but avoiding pain would be great. “I’m sure that they’re hiding until their masterpiece is complete,” Harrison joked lightly, but he lifted the corners of his lips to form a bashful smile, :..but t-thank you.” He didn’t get many compliments as it is; much less his sketches. It…felt nice.
"Erm," Harrison started, but struggled to answer. He couldn’t just say: ‘Oh, some people would like their thumbs back, so I’m trying to see if I can built one!’. Or maybe if Harrison can explain without freaking him out. "Do you know about prosthesis? Not the addition of a letter or syllable at the beginning of a word. The other one— artificial substitution for a missing part of the body.”
"Yeah, I'm sure they're not," he returned the smile, though his was more of a grin than the boy's. Travis went back to his beverage as the boy thought, not in any rush to go anywhere, or get an answer. He was just making conversation, out of habit as much as anything else. "Prosthetics I know," he offered instead, at the boy's explanation, "So are you an engineer?" The boy seemed a bit young to be dabbling in such sciences, but then again, Travis had dropped out after his sophomore year of high school. He wasn't an accurate judge of what people who cared for academia could or couldn't do. "And why thumbs?"
