High Energy Abstract Paintings by MR Herget
Infusing a highly futuristic level of impressionism and abstract art, Matthew Ryan Herget (MR Herget) is a self-taught American artist. Working with spray paint and oil, Herget composes abstract portraits constructed from quick, short brush strokes, violent palate knife scrapes and heavy layers of paint and multiple sketches, which create an emotive and high energy piece. Although his pieces reveal a child-like nature, the painter’s well-honed technique feels timeless and fun. So far in 2015, the young artist’s main subject has been the astronaut, among many others. His portrayal of the astronaut reflects a childhood dream, which is a known icon in general culture and aspiration for children who dream of exploring other worlds. The free fall positions of the astronauts also reflect an extremely blithe characterization.
Overall Herget’s juxtaposition between vibrant colors, a carefree technique and an emotionally charged tone are an ode to his personhood and his personal artistic approach.
Stunning and Vivid Illustrations of Mythological Creatures by Rlon Wang
Shenzhen, China-based artist Rlon Wang composes stunning, high-energy illustrations, which showcase the beauty of East Asian folklore and art. By inserting a myriad of mythological creatures and symbols in one image, Wang saturates each piece with a burst of color and intricacy. Following the traditional style found in Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints, the artist composes highly emotive and exotic images, which overflow with imagery of nature and myth. Depicting a different animal in each piece, Wang’s meticulous attention to detail and color complement the wild and mystical quality nourished by East Asian art, literature and tradition. The hues within the composition complement the vibrancy and vitality of the busy pieces, which demand to be observed piece by piece. Although contemporary art follows a simple style, Wang’s designs are deemed beautiful because they contradict the dynamic of minimalism by imposing the beauty found within highly elaborate pieces. There is nothing dainty or delicate about Wang’s work. It is sheer power.
