Project Profile: Freestanding Planter Trellis for House Plant Journal
We really love the House Plant Journal blog (houseplantjournal.com) run by Darryl Cheng and have been following along for a while now. We recently had the opportunity to create this custom Freestanding Planter Trellis for his Pothos Marble Queen. The trellis created for Darryl was 12" x 36" with 10" interior stakes that are 4" apart.
Be sure to follow Darryl for tons of great house plant wisdom!

PRODUCT FEATURE: THE NEW TRELLIS WORKS TRELLISITO
TRELLISITO: ADDING A “LITTLE” GREEN TO A PERSONAL SPACE
Bring a “little” trellis growth into a personal space, and create some tranquility, freshness, and delight to your environment. Introducing Trellis Works’ new tiny trellis feature: The Trellisito. which is a scaled down version of our full-size Freestanding Garden Trellis (less the angle trim). We use the same 12 gauge galvanized wire welded into a 2” x 2” matrix, and apply an epoxy primer and powder coat finish for the Trellisito. The ground stakes are an extension of the trellis wire, which provides for a simple one step installation procedure. (Actually, two steps if you include the process of opening the box when your order arrives.)
These small trellises are designed to be used with small potted plants. We offer The Trellisito in four sizes and four standard colors so you can pair the trellis design with your pottery of choice. If you have a specific size and/or color you are looking for that we do not already offer, please use our freestanding trellis quote form to send us the details for a price quote.
We encourage cultivating your project from seeds to an abundance of intertwined growth, and find enjoyment in seeing the tendrils of a twining vine reach for the trellis wires as the plant develops. For those who prefer an accelerated program, you may use a small established plant of your choice and carefully commingle the existing growth among the trellis wires. Just make sure the variety of vine you choose will benefit from the trellis (see our previous post for information on types of vines).
The Trellisito is a small and simple project with a variety of uses. A few ideas:
• A great way to teach kids about the growing process and responsibility of taking care of plants • Gift one to a coworker for their desk • Place a couple in a bay window or on your kitchen windowsill • Use a few down the center of a table for a living centerpiece at a barbecue or dinner party • Place one on a ledge or shelf inside your home for an indoor green element
