god i love this one. if you don't know anything about buddhist cosmology, you should look into it bcs it's pretty fukken cool. i say that bcs this quote kind of parallels the nature of the universe in buddhist thought
hey guess what gender is a construct and the more you create polarity the further you stray from addressing the causal issues of gender disparity. yes, a lot of men are horrible, but a retaliatory attitude simply assumes the status quo is the objective reality, and anything you do within that situation assumes that its hierarchies and power dynamics are fixed and real. thereby you participate in maintaining the status quo when in actuality social constructions are dynamic, fluid, shape-shifting, and begin with our own minds and social interactions. scream and bite all you want, but realize that you are still sitting in the same kiddie pool full of piss as before. instead of defiantly pitting yourself against an "other" and pointing out your differences, you should be asking in which ways you are the same. when you acknowledge this, you can finally look at the different ways we diverge from each other in matters of gender and perhaps you will come closer to discovering why, how come, and what can you do to change it. that's seriously the only way we can come close to any kind of gender equality
