#ShoppeSpotlight: KAZZ Clothing

KAZZ Clothing is an independent fashion label based out of Saskatchewan, Canada. KAZZ Clothing was founded in 2012 with a focus on creating wearable ready-to-wear designs for the urban modern woman.

1. How did you get started?

I started my clothing line 2 years ago after obtaining education both in the fashion design and in business. I was working at a ad agency at the time and my boss encouraged me to start my own clothing business after having me talk about it so much. My dream was to always have my own clothing line has that has been my passion since I was a teenager. I decided to take the plunge into starting my own clothing company with a great deal of support behind me. I am a creative person and knew I want to design clothes for a living. It's my way to express my love for what I do. 

2. What does your store name mean?

The name KAZZ Clothing stems from the family surname 'Kasdorf'. Coming from a family of all-girls and knowing the family name wouldn't carry through generations,I thought it was fitting to name my company after what resembles where I came from and who I am. 

3. Who are your favourite designers?

My favorite designers include Marc Jacobs, AllSaints, Sass & Bide and Tom Ford. 

4. What’s your favourite song right now?

My absolute favorite song right now is 'Hey Now' by London Grammar

5. What celebrity would you like to style?

The celebrity I would love to style is Mila Kunis or Jessica Alba

Common Sort Riverside, AA for basics and local thrift for my vintage obsessions.

4. What is one staple item every closet should have?

Double u-neck tank dress from American Apparel (any kind) Perfect for layering, wear it as it is and it comes handy for some under garment emergency :p

5. What celebrity would you love to style?

Hands down NICOLE RICHIE :)

Aimée from Paplo is here to talk about her partner, Fredrico, and her's experience with the beautiful and classic leather-goods shop Paplo. 

1. How did you get started?

In Florence Italy, I started to work with Frederico at his leathergoods shop and in some time we decided to start our own brand & designs and then move to Canada.

2. What does your store name mean?

Palpo itself is the Italian word for “ to feel with touch.”   And while the PALPO company honors the word by creating and designing leather goods that are recognized for their physically seductive appeal and appropriately for its luxuriously pleasurable touch, the PALPO brand honors the Italian tradition of superior craftsmanship and extraordinarily high quality accessories.

3. Who are your favourite designers?

Personally, for woman, I'm a big fan of vintage influenced designs - feminine, playful and a sense of "playing dress-up".  I admire designers that showcase a sense of freedom - Galliano's designs have always been seductive to me.

4. What’s your favourite song right now?

Music is such a necessity and I can't do favorites - all types of music can feed me.

5. Where do you find inspiration?

All around.

Oversized knit tops. You can get as creative or lazy as you want with an oversized top: Layer it, wear it as is, pair it with any bottoms from leggings to ripped jeans to schoolgirl skirts to maxi skirts... then accessorize and throw on some cute booties for an effortlessly urban look.
