That made him stumble. For that wasn’t his idea, but boy, did that sound precious. He arose his arm a little, and shook his head. “No. No. That’s not what I was asking. That wasn’t why I was asking.” With a lingering pause, he knelt in front of her, motioning to her midsection, where he presumed it hurt. “Let me see.” He said, raising a small eyebrow at her in expectation.
“Oh. Right.” The Doctor replied, blinking in surprise. She lifted up her shirt, showing off what was clearly a deep wound. “I’ll be fine.” She promised, offering him a faint smile. “Rest for a bit, get some regeneration energy and I’ll be good as new.”
When his eyes dropped to the wound, he simply gave a small faint smile. He took it back. Proxima was ruthless. “I’m a tell tale. I would not have made it this long in your position.” He explained, quietly, as he pulled his jacket off and turned, laying it over the sleeping girl that shared The Doctor’s cell. He dug into it’s pockets, and produced a few bandages. Not much use, but they were clean.
“He knows about my origins & he knows what happened there. If you disappear without a trace, his first accusation will be me. Any doubt in my mind would give away the truth.” In other words; if he helped her, then Thanos would know. However, if he helped her and forgot about it completely, he would be safe. Well, safer than he would otherwise be.
“Stay still.” He commanded, dabbing some of the liquid he had onto the bandage and slowly beginning to clean her wound. “You may be a Time Lord, but too many of these untreated and in a short amount of time will be damaging. And- it also gives us an excuse to speak.”

There was a long pause, and Loki looked away from her. More powerful than Ebony? Perhaps, perhaps not. Ebony Maw was as powerful as they came. “No reason.” He said, simply, before shifting through the bars. He approached the woman and gave her a vague look over. “Sit. I need to ensure you weren’t hurt too much.” He told her, though, he had something else in mind. He wasn’t sure whether to go through with this or not, but it did come down to his decision right now. Betrayal or not… ah, such a question for Loki.
The Doctor sat down opposite him, studying him carefully. “I can erase them.” She blurted out. “Erase everything Thanos did to you. Bury them, erase them. Whatever you wanted.” She was silent for a moment. “Memories are precious, even the worst ones. So I don’t recommend it. But it could be done easily.”

“That’s the point.” Loki gave her a small look. Throughout everything, the person that he used to know still hadn’t shown up. It was because of this child, whether she admitted that it was to do with the time lines, or not. The Doctor wanted to protect. And that was something that he had begun to admire about her. When there were helpless beings to protect, she stood up and did what she could to help them.
Dropping his eyes to the ground, he took a deep breath. He missed who he used to be before Thanos. “You’re old. Tell me, do you know of any ways to erase memories?”
The Doctor looked up and raised an eyebrow. “I’m old? You’ve got a great way of asking for a favour.” Despite the clear amount of pain she was in, there was a teasing tone in her voice, the corners of her mouth quirked up into a smile.
She gave a small nod though at the question. “My people were incredibly powerful touch telepaths. And not only that memory erasure was a form of punishment on Gallifrey, we all know how to do it. Why do you ask?”

Like for a short starter from Loki!

There was a long silence, and then Loki moved forward a little, resting his hand on the bars of the cell. Ebony was ruthless, but Proxima would had only just returned from one of her missions. To see the effects that had had on The Doctor? Oh boy. He thought he had done some bad stuff, it was nothing compared to what someone would do when it was a hobby for them.
“It won’t stop, you know.” Because he knew what it was like. And the pain never stopped. “Be thankful, you’re getting the nice end of them. If they truly cared about getting information from you, that girl would be dead and you would be unable to move.”
“I know.” She said quietly, looking up at him. Her eyes were always so expressive, and at that moment they were screaming the pain she wouldn’t allow herself to show voluntarily.
The Doctor breathed shakily, pushing herself to the wall and groaning as she leaned against it. “They’ve threatened Clara a few time. Don’t think they’ll do anything to her, she’s too important to the timelines. But I can’t allow them to risk it.” She shook her head sadly. “They can do what they like to me as long as she’s okay.”

“ONE THING. I wanted to do ONE thing. Why exactly is transforming into a snake in a night club a bad thing? Imagine the amount of people who would ADORE it? Earth is so… so… ugh.” He was complaining to himself, outside of a - you guessed it - night club. He had been waiting on this dumb planet for ages. He even got himself an apartment. When was his brother going to show up?
She was simply walking home, well, more like limping but that wasn’t the point. Tired and weary from a days-long debrief she clearly was seeing things. Because Loki couldn’t be sitting on a curb outside of a club. Isleif blinked and rubbed her eyes and–nope, still there.
“ You’re dead. ” Not the best way to speak to one of her gods, but perhaps he would forgive her.
“Uh oh.” Once he heard those words, he knew he was in for it - so to speak. Because he wasn’t from this universe. And while, yes, it was true, Loki was dead, he did not want to be entirely associated with that version of himself. Because Loki was Loki. He was himself. The one and only. He turned on his heal, and looked at the lady. With a small tinge of familiarity on his face he gave a small, brief smile as he leaned in a little.
“That is more likely than not.” He held up a finger, as he shifted to the bouncer. “I hear that you humans tend to let women in on the side if they’re attractive. As I’m providing one here, wou--”
“No.”
“Ah, damn.” He looked back to the woman, and moved towards her with a groan. “Okay, assume I have problems with my memory. Remind me, who are you?”

“I already know how dangerous you can be.” He responded instantly, his gaze meeting hers for the brief moment she was looking at him. This was a situation he hated being in, most definitely. “She’s your cellmate. And will be until you are allowed to leave. I have no interest in making you the person you were in my universe, and she is here simply to stop you from becoming that. Do you understand?”
“But she hasn’t done anything wrong. Let her go, please.” She begged before sighing in frustration. “Do you really think that keeping one of my friends here is gonna make me behave better?” But the Doctor knew it would, she was very aware how she was on her best behaviour in front of her companions.
“Honestly? Yes.” Especially when it came to a child version of her companions. Throughout everything, the one consistent in every good thing she had done was when a friend of hers were around. He’d be stupid not to use that.
“I won’t be the only person visiting you, Doctor. So I have one request from you. If anyone does anything to that girl, let me know. This truly isn’t about her, and I want to avoid her getting hurt as much as possible.”

He was expecting that go lucky attitude. After a small pause, he left, to go and do two things. Alert Thanos & get her present. A present, that she was bound to dislike. For a few moments after he returned, another being appeared in her cell - unconscious. && that was a child by the name of Clara Oswald.
She was there to ensure that The Doctor didn’t go too dark. Loki was aware of what threatening her friends would do, but to keep a constant reminder of who The Doctor was just before her? It would hopefully keep her in line. At least, for the amount of time it would take for Thanos to do his plan. He wasn’t intending to hurt her if he could so help it but he was instructed, specifically, to do what he needed to do.
“She’s real, by the way.”
The Doctor stared over at Clara, breathing heavily. Memories flashed through her mind. Memories of when she had been Bowtie and Eyebrows and trying to figure out the mystery of the Impossible Girl. She reached forwards, brushing a hand through the brown hair before standing up and storming over to Loki.
“Don’t you dare hurt her.” She growled. “If I find out you have hurt a hair on her head you’ll find out exactly how dangerous I can be, understand?” She warned before looking back over at the girl.

And suddenly, he felt the pain of loneliness and helplessness run through him. It was something that happened irregularly, but it took him by surprise this time. Perhaps he had always been hopeful that The Doctor had changed tactics. He had researched her, after he had met her, and while there wasn’t much in the universe anymore about the woman in front of her, that did not mean that what he had found had been bad. On the contrary, she had been more good, than bad. She had been so human. So hopeful & bright. If only she could bring hope to the ones that were in the deepest.
“The location of this cell is on a need-to-know basis. And you, my dear Doctor, do not need to know.” He gave her a small look, before practically phasing through the bars behind him. He wiped his clothes down and took a deep breath, his hands resting on both sides of his jacket. “I’ll be back - soon. I have a present to give you.”
“I mean, it’d help a lot. Always nice know what galaxy I’m in. Although I could figure it out by the stars. Could figure out what century we’re in too just in case we’ve travelled in time.” She was doing her usual act of being extremely casual and acting like she didn’t have anything to lose. It had worked very well often enough.
“A present? Oh good, I like present. Is it those little pink sweets you get in markets in the Wona Galaxy? They’re great.” She rambled. As soon as he left she stood up, trying to sonic the door open before groaning in frustration. “Deadlocked, of course.”
