One of the weirdest/saddest # #Disney history stories is the tale of Bobby Driscoll. One of the first child stars at the studio, Bobby starred in the early live-action classics like Song of the South, So Dear To My Heart, Melody Time, Treasure Island, and he was the voice, face and live-action reference model for Peter Pan. Then he grew up, adult acting roles disappeared, he got hooked on heroin, ended up in New York City in the mid-60's and was hanging out in Andy Warhol's Factory with the Velvet Underground (!!) and even appeared in the Factory film Dirt. Then he died of a drug overdose at age 31 and nobody knew who this homeless guy was and his body went unclaimed and he ended up buried in an unmarked pauper's grave in New York. A couple years later his family asked the Disney studio to help track him down and the studio's FBI contacts ended up discovering he had already died and tracked him to his unmarked grave. Anyways who else has a connection with Walt Disney and the Velvet Underground?! Somebody needs to write a book/make a movie about his story!
