November Pin
I said I would update people on the pin when it was done so here you go!Â
All proceeds for it will go towards the Movember foundation! It was also a neat way of bringing a little bit of JJ into the pin designs :D
Go here to get it:Â https://jacksepticeye.com/
I GOTTA get this! Who designed it? It looks really neat!
Sooo... I got the banana, @therealjacksepticeye

Basically, Youtube as we know it is in deep trouble.Â
https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=FTC-2019-0054-0001
COPPAâs new law basically makes it so that every single video and channel needs to be listed as whether it is kid friendly or not. If your channel is kid friendly, you will not be recommended on Youtube, you will not be able to have personalised ads, you will not be able to have any ad revenue of any kind.Â
So this seems easy? Just list your videos and channel as mature content thatâs for 18+? WRONG! Somehow (not sure how yet, not even they are sure how this will happen) COPPA and the FTC will search for anything in your content that is deemed âkid friendlyâ. If you read their definition of what is deemed as kid friendly (basically: anything colourful, any âkid wordsâ like âcoolâ âawesomeâ or âwhateverâ, anything cartoony (animation falls into that topic no matter what)), you will realise that this is VERY vague and can and WILL cause problems when this is implemented. Not only that; if you are found out to have kid friendly content that isnât marked as such, you will be fined up to $42,000. Obviously, for smaller Youtubers, this is a very big problem that could end their youtube career in a heartbeat.Â
This is all being done as action to protect childrenâs viewing limits online as well as protect data thatâs used in the childâs activity online. (In my mind this is basically saying: parents have defaulted to pushing a screen into their childâs face to shut them up so much so, that now everything posted online is deemed a threat to children, and instead of parents bettering themselves, theyâre asking the government to babysit for them.) This was something that has been coming for a long while and previous attempts to protect childrenâs activities online have been put in place, but now COPPA have had enough and are putting this not only into Youtube policies, but into LAW. But all of this is being made under enormous misunderstandings of how internet culture works. Iâm sure you can think of so many content creators on Youtube that ride the line between being kid friendly and mature content; now itâs so precise that someone who has colourful lighting in their web cam set up are now deemed âkid friendlyâ, even if theyâre saying âfuckâ uncensored out loud. What makes it worse is Youtubeâs attempts to make videos kid friendly since its demonetisation policies started will most likely still be in place: WHICH CONTRADICTS THE COPPA LAW. Any videos a Youtuber has done to monetise their videos (cut out swearing, not done copyrighted or mature content activities) will now fall into COPPAâs âkid friendlyâ laws. So now weâre having to shift from being monetisation friendly to make money, to being as adult and not-kid friendly as possible in order to get money, but youâll still get demonetised by Youtube. Creators will have to decided whether to get fucked by COPPA or Youtubeâs old system.Â
This is a law that needs to be refined and altered. Otherwise this could be the end of Youtube. And this may not stop at YoutubeâŠÂ
But whatâs important to highlight here is this is NOT something to 100% blame Youtube over. They were fucked by COPPA and the FTC: BLAME COPPA AND THE FTC OVER THIS, NOT YOUTUBE.Â
in the link you can comment on the policy. Please comment on it and outline that this policy is hugely vague and can either damage Youtube content creators and Youtube as a platform, or will be abused and will not work in the end. This needs to be either gotten rid of or fixed, FAST.Â
THIS NEEDS TO BE SPREAD AROUND! THIS NEEDS TO BE HEARD BEFORE THE 9TH DECEMBER 2019!!Â

you canât argue with the facts, people
Facts donât lie. And neither do I.
This means war
A war on Twitter AND Tumblr? Time to get the popcorn
Whatâs the most common/ biggest mistake you see smaller content creators make? đ€
Not taking chances. I hear them say âI canât do that because my audience would hate itâ and I was the exact same way. So rigid and strict in what I thought I could upload. Not even crazy things, just different types of games etc.
If you donât take risks and do the fun stuff you really wanna try out then youâll burn yourself out. Not only that but the riskier and more different and unique things you make are the ones that you and your fans will remember the most. I donât remember what happened in 90% of the Happy Wheels videos but I absolutely remember the long one offs or the wackier ego type videos
Taking risks is definitely difficult, but I'm slowly learning to get outside my bubble a little bit. Thank you for the advice!
Look at how far you've come
Man, 7 years is a long time, huh? It's been a crazy 7 years I'm sure. Look at all you've accomplished!
In 7 years you've hit so many milestones
In 7 years you've raised so much for charities
In 7 years you've gotten to meet people you didn't think you'd get to meet
In 7 years you've made so many people happy
In 7 years you've made millions smile.
Sometimes, to see how much you've really accomplished, you have to look backwards. I've learned that myself. Congrats to you, @therealjacksepticeye :) Here's to many now years of games, LAUGHs and more.
Remade a drawing I did from 2013! I have to say, I'm proud of how far I've come! đ
Addressing Concerns About My Editor
Hey everyone.Â
I want to talk about the discourse recently regarding my new editor. This has nothing to do with Robin so please keep him out of it and leave him be.
Some context for those not in the know. Recently I hired someone new to help edit the IRL/Non Gaming content on my channel. Main reasons being that it was a lot for Robin to take on alone and also Robin isnât up to date on meme culture or actively partakes in it so I brought on someone who is. I also just wanted to create more content and having one person edit all of it is a huge strain, especially with an occasional ramp up into 2 vids a day again when I could.
I will admit my screening process for this person was none at all, thatâs on me and I should have done better. People went to their twitter and found a bunch of bad tweets, some were edgy jokes while others were âjokesâ that I vehemently disagreed with. I brought this up with the person and they agreed that they were bad and deleted them. They were about 16 when they wrote them which normally I would let slide cos God knows I was a fucking idiot at that age but I think thatâs a poor excuse in such a connected and social media driven world weâre in now. I had a huge internal struggle about what to do, I took about a week and ultimately told them that I would keep them on but it could absolutely never happen again. They agreed and showed genuine remorse for the tweets and it was clear that thatâs not what they actually believe and agreed they were dumb. I wanted to give them a second chance and prove that they could learn and grow and I wanted to be mature and adult about it. Not just cut and run when things got bad.Â
However I have ultimately decided to let this person go and not work with them again. Not because of hyper critical nay sayers and âhatersâ but because some people in this community were genuinely upset about it. They lost faith in me and felt like they couldnât trust me anymore because it flew in the face of everything I had morally stood for and preached about before and they were absolutely right. I can reason out everything and debate it back and forth all day but at the end of the day if some honestly great people in this communtiy were genuinely hurt by this, then itâs not worth it. I want my channel and this community to feel like a safe place for you to feel like you can be your true self and connect with other people who feel the same. To build each other up and treat each other with respect and have fun and me hiring this person went against all that. So I wanted to give a genuine, honest apology and say that I am very very sorry. No excuses or anything like that, I fucked up. I want people, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community to know that I truly stand with you, now and alwaty.Iâm so very sorry if you lost faith and trust in me over this.Â
I havenât been myself lately and coming here these days or most social media honestly fills me with an incredible amount of stress and anxiety. Hiring someone to help with the load was supposed to ease all that but in the end made things a LOT worse. I hear your concerns,I get it. I also miss the older days of the channel when things were nicer and I didnât have to worry about things as much. The community was nicer and more connected and every day was an absolute pleasure. I promise that I will work harder to get us and the community back to a better place. Iâm not a perfect person but I feel like some people, including myself sometimes, expect me to be and that level of pressure and expectation is sometimes too much to meet. I will try my best to find that magic again to create and bring the channel back to a place youâre all proud to watch and be part of. I will need some help along the way so I hope you can permit me some missteps along that journey but hereâs to a better time in 2020.Â
It's no worries man, your decisions are your decisions! I hope that your workload will even out for you soon cause you deserve it. You definitely deserve rest, like everyone does. We will understand if you can't upload every day, or if Robin can't edit right then. Or if you take a misstep- we all misstep. Just know, that even if things may be crazy, that people seem to be judging left and right, that your community has your back cause you're genuine. Keep that PMA alive
We all need a little happy JJ right now
I've got no strings on me. I don't have much inspiration, so you get a doodle!
