I have something important to say. I’m going to start by saying, most importantly, that I am sorry.
I think I need to stop making this comic.
I’m doing this for many reasons, but the biggest reasons are:
I am dissatisfied with my art skills, and find the comic makes me feel bad to look at because I don’t think it’s good enough. I want to refine my art style into something that is easy for me to do (my current style is difficult to maintain) and looks good for the comic.
I never finished the plot and worldbuilding before starting the comic and now things are starting to get unraveled and make no sense.
I reread the comic recently and find the pace to be horrible, as well as several errors I’ve noticed that would be too difficult to just fix, the easiest way to fix it would be to restart.
I want to improve my comic-making skills so that the comic itself is engaging to read and looks good (outside of just improving the pace/art)
I’m not going to get rid of the comic forever. It’s not dead and buried. This comic means a lot to me, so much that I want to do it - but I want to do it in a way that I enjoy and find satisfactory. I plan to restart the comic at some point, once I have resolved most or all of the issues above. I still love my world and my characters and there’s no way I’m giving them all up.
I’m going to delete this blog and the account attached. I’m going to make a new account containing my art and worldbuilding blogs. I’m going to put all of my effort that I’ve been using to make the comic into developing the world and plot instead. I’m going to try and make something I can feel proud of.
You can follow my Worldbuilding Blog. This is where you’ll find the most information about Triple Star, its developments, and how/when I’m going to start the comic up again.
You can also follow my Art Blog. This is where you’ll find the most art and things about characters, and I will also post relevant information here re: the comic.
(Note: both the above blogs are currently under construction, since the old ones were attached to this account which I am deleting).
You could also follow my Private Blog. This is where I just sort of reblog and chat about stuff casually, but I also frequently reblog my favourite art and worldbuilding things from my other blogs.
This comic means so much to me. I don’t want to stop it, but I also want to feel good about it and unfortunately, at the moment, I really don’t.
Finally, I’d like to close off this post by thanking you.
Everyone who looked at my comic, who liked it, who followed me or reblogged my posts or left likes. Everyone who made me feel good about my work. Everyone who sent me asks. All my friends who supported me.
All of you are amazing and I cannot be more grateful for your support. I hope this doesn’t feel like a betrayal of all the support you’ve given me. I promise you, you’ll be the ones who’re inspiring me to create it again in the future.
I hope you’ll stick around for the new iteration but if not; I harbour no resentment for you. Thank you for being here this long. Thank you for everything you’ve done. I probably would have given up on this entirely if not for all of you.
