We started our trip on the 13th of Septembre 2014 at the train station of Stavanger. We took the train from Stavanger to Olso where we did a little break to visit a bit the city. Then, from Oslo to Trondheim whee we also had the time to discover a bit the city by night. Finally, from Trondheim to Bodø. Please, take a good book to read, otherwise you will just start to be crazy in the train! ;)

It is the resume of our beautiful trip in a movie!

Let’s start our trip from the most beautiful village of Lofoten for me: Å.

Å was mainly a small fishing village specializing in stockfish, but since then tourism has taken over as the main economic activity.

We rented a Rorbu here. There are one of the features of the Nordland coastline and particular to Lofoten. The cabins were originally basic accommodation for the Lofoten fishermen, built on poles partly out in the water. Today, there are Rorbu cabins in a range of categories, from basic to high standard.

It was really nice to sleep here and to discover the amazing sunrise the morning. Also a big moment when fishermen came back with their fish and start to cut it.

Let’s hike to Hermannsdalstinden, the highest mountain on the island of Moskenesøya.

The 1,029-metres tall mountain lies on the west side of the island, about 6.5 kilometres west of the municipal centre of Reine

Big atmosphere here... Maybe the most beautiful like we did in Lofoten!

Let’s move in Reine, the most famous place in Lofoten.

Reine is a fishing village and the administrative centre of the municipality of Moskenes.

Today tourism is important, and despite its remote location, many thousands of people visit annually. We were really glad to be here in Septembre because we were almost alone, no tourist and such a good weather!

At a modest 448 meters high, Reinebringen is far from one of the highest peaks on the Lofoten islands. Yet this is more than made up for by the spectacular view provided from the summit. This view, combined with a relatively short hike and easy access from Reine means that Reinebringen is one of the most popular hikes on Lofoten.

We spent a really good time in our Rorbu in Reine. The view here is amazing, you open your window and you see these pics in front of you, you feel so small. This dead-fish air follows you everywhere in the islands and makes it really special.

Well, not a good weather this day but we enjoy the free rowing that we had with the Rorbu.

The water is so pure here and so clean, Norwegian sea is beautiful !

Then, we took a little ferry from a place next to Reine to Bunes Beach. It is one of the most scenic and isolated beaches on the Lofoten Islands. It’s really famous and we understood why. It was a bit cold to swim but I managed to put our feet into the sea.

We took a little path to the right of thus beach by chance, we even don’t know were we were going but waahouu, we were not disappointed by what we found up!
