I’m sorry but i am currently in the closet to my family and that is no excuse for treating your girlfriend like shit or letting your family do so. Her family was horrible the entire time, with the exception of jane who was also inconsiderate on occasion, she didn’t have abby’s back, ditched her for her ex boyfriend, has a history of being an asshole to people she dates and is a liar?? There’s nothing wrong of not wanting or being able to come out to conservative parents, there is a lot wrong with not being open with the person you’re with about your closet status. Orphan jokes? Closet jokes? The children who frame her for shoplifting? Putting her in the basement and giving her no privacy? That movie was made for straight people and the way i know this is because they said cheerful christmas movie and that doesn’t add up with being triggered for 90minutes and getting a 5 minute half assed wrap up with people saying sorry and kstew acting like the family is suddenly welcoming and warm
