The illustration features the skull of an ungrateful, lost soul of Los Angeles surrounded by coca leaves, poppy leaves, a pile of pennies (that all landed tails up), a scarab and an empty bottle of booz.

Biker gang logos are awesome. While researching for an upcoming project, I came across the Detroit Highwaymen. Not only is their logo awesome, but they are fucking hardcore and did I mention they're from Detroit?? Formed over 60 years ago, they are up their with the Hell's Angels, Mongols and the Pagans as a 1% level MC. You can read up on their history (including investigations by the FBI, DEA and the ATF) here.

Their badass motto: “Yea, though we ride the highways in the shadows of death, we fear no evil, for we are the most evil mother fuckers on the highway.”

The poster celebrates Keihl's long heritage in NY's East Village and the launch of their new store on 14th St. in the meat packing district - where you can find my mural (in their bathroom!).

I moved to NYC when I was 20 and immediately fell into the village. I started showing with the old Sub-Culture gallery in 1999 and the East Village became my stomping ground. My good pals (Dave Schwartz and Erik Foss) who owned Sub-Culture, went on to open the notorious Lit Lounge, thus giving a lot of us a dark, dirty mothership for all of our East Village adventures. Along the way, I befriended a big crew of East Village legends and locals (big up Dante Ross, Carlo McCormick!) and legendary memories were formed.

Anyway, this poster is dedicated to the East Village legends that made the place what it is (or was)...Alan Ginsberg, Debbie Harry, Basquiat,The Ramones, Herring, The Beasties and more.

Hey guys! Getting excited about Comic-Con and releasing the B-BOT toy. Here are a couple of better pics and a bit of background info on the toy and my signing...see ya there!

After almost 10 years of work in the 'designer toy' sub-culture, artist Tristan Eaton is branching out for the first time into the mass-market toy world with a new action figure for kids called B-BOT. B-BOT is inspired by the popular iPhone app created by Eaton and Art Director Peter Cortez which allows users to create their own characters using Eaton's art. The inherent play factor of the app plays right into the features of the toy. The B-BOT action figure has multiple pieces that can be switched and reconfigured to make dozens of playful, silly and unique characters, adding a building block feature to the already popular 'platform toy' style. Eaton already made a major impact on toy culture with his previous Platform Toys for Kidrobot including the Dunny and Munny (both of which are now featured in the MOMA permanent collection) as well as the Thundermutt and S.P.U.D. toys on his own Thunderdog brand. Moving forward, Eaton says 'I've always wanted to take my style to a wider audience and find a way for kids to be able to collect as well as play with my toys. The B-BOT action figure is the perfect platform for that.' A limited edition prototype of the B-BOT action figure will be released for the first time at this year's San Diego Comic-Con through the newly formed Plastic City Toys (A subsidiary of Super Rad Toys), with a wider release slated for Christmas 2011. While I'm reminiscing - I have to mention what happened for me after comics. Many of us artists were inspired by the seminal anime film Akira - but they way I found and saw it blew me away. When I was 13, I randomly saw a listing in the London Time Out for a 'cartoon about the destruction of a futuristic Tokyo'. I decided to go. I'd never heard of Anime and had no set up or preparation for what I was about to see...The film was shown in a small theater in Leicester Square (with a screen that was about 10 feet wide and sat about 50 people). My brain melted and my eyes burned. I walked out a changed person. My art wouldn't be what it is today with out that experience...

This is the first comic I ever bought. I was 10 years old and found it at the corner store at South Parade and The Avenue in West London. It's probably an understatement to say that it changed my life - from that point on, every weekend for the next few years consisted of skating from comic shop to comic shop all over London. Silver Surfer lead to the X-Men and never ending Summers of copying Kirby, Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld drawings. I just pulled this out of storage recently and it brought back a flood of good memories. Before I put down my skateboard and got into drugs and girls - this comic represents an innocent part of my childhood when we skated all night, painted lead figures and blasted Tougher Than Leather all day. Big up Turnham Green massive!
