Shadow finding out about Golden not knowing that the Beasts and Virtues are the same and in the process of spending time with Golden again, feels something he has not felt in years - feeling like an ass when lying to someone

Shadow Milk will likely be faced with a lot of internal conflict, because Goldie hates him as of now since she's under the belief that he killed Blueberry Milk Cookie(or well, he did but that was metaphorically) for his soul jam.

On one hand, he could not tell her; let her believe he's dead. This is... certainly an option alright. Because she will keep pursuing him and he, in his own nature, will continue lying to her. Ending up in a cycle of lies and eternal hunt.

On the other hand, he could tell her the complete utter truth and go against his beastly nature. But that raises another question; Would she believe him? Likely not, he is title the 'Beast of Deceit' after all.

In this timeline, their relationship has devolved into a series of lies, misplaced beliefs, grief and rage that perpetuates their cycle. It will make for a beautiful, yet endless tragedy.

...golden suffering through an alternate timeline that confirms the sealing wasn't the best option with shadow actively holding back his desire to rampage in order to be with her, causing self-doubt-

Alt timeline where Goldie doesn't know that the Beasts and Virtues are the same people, this would rely on not watching the world for a good chunk of time during the corruption. But anyways this was just a thought I had :p

Well for starters, the Toybox is alive again. And her design leans into aspects of her original form mixed with her first rewrite form.

I won't spoil too much however. :3

(let's just ignore my forgetting to anon) This is more a personal/directed at you question, but why are you interested in the idea of Golden Butter opposing the Beasts?

Because i think it's a fun idea? It also helps play into the tragedy that is Goldie's storyline with the beasts, because yes; it is a tragedy. Her opposing them in their prime makes a conflict, and in result makes conflicting feelings and a more compelling storyline.

so is cowardice still a bit part of the 2nd Remaster of Golden (Golden Remastered 2, Electric Boogaloo, I couldn't resist)

I wouldn't say so, while she's been in the toybox for a long time she was by no means doing so out of cowardice. She'd watch what happened in the world from there, popping in and out to give important lessons to the cookies of the world. Essentially teaching them to discover things on their own, and not to rely upon the Virtues so much.

Did it backfire or come in clutch? Who knows, there was a long period of time where Golden Butter Cookie had to focus on her own realm within the toybox before she could look again. And by that time the Beasts were already being sealed. She was sad to see her former fellow virtues go but... it was what had to be done.

She watched from her own world as the new cookie world grew-- and eventually decided to join it... Though not in the way one would expect. She crafted an entirely new Identity- Butterscotch Cookie, and set out into the new world.

She did, of course, pop in and out of the toybox... until she couldn't and left it in stasis one day.

the way you describe Golden fully corrupted is giving me the vibes, but I also wonder what her fully corrupted trait/state would be?

because the thing you described doesn't feel like it fits Cowardice or Isolation. Feels more like it would be something of a Beast of Erasure.

Not necessarily Erasure as you said. Though she may be called the 'Beast of Erasure' for those that live long enough into her apocalypse. But that's an inaccurate description of what her corrupted trait really is.

You see, this Goldie wishes for the end to come about so a new universe can be born, no? So while erasure is a part of that process it is not all it is, rather, her actual trait here is Rebirth. Considering that it also fits her when she's not causing the end of all things with her own apotheosis.

Also yes, neither Isolation or Cowardice are her corrupted traits anymore. Though she does still live within Isolation with the toybox, yet she's always been watching.
