The Inca Empire (1200-1535), the largest and most advanced civilization in the Americas prior to the time of the Spanish conquest (1492-1810), remains an influence in Peru today (Guillen & Lopez, 1980). Peruvians are proud of the architecture, agriculture, communication, artisan work, and military advancement of the Incas. (McCintosh, 10) This picture was taken in a restaurant in Peru, where this lady dressed in cultural clothing, greeted customers as they entered the restaurant. There was also native music playing at the restaurant while we ate dinner. It was clear to me that they were proud of the culture, which is highly influenced by the Incas. #frostburgcobperu #studyabroad #peru #cob

On Thursday July 27th 2013, members from Frostburg's College of Business, including myself, participated in a Leadership conference, lead by Profesor McClellan. He spoke about the qualities a good leader should possess and how important a good leader is. At this conference, many of the native Peruvians were females which seems to echo Tim McCintosh's statement that woman have been and are becoming more involved in leadership in Latin America. "Romero (2004) must provide evidence for the modern style as the most effective leadership style. He will also need to document a shift in Latin America to more female leadership and, in turn, show how this shift will influence leadership style."
