1. WoW Database: http://www.wowhead.com
Anything you can’t find or figure out, use this. There’s a search bar. You can enter NPC (non-player character) names, quest names, zones, quest items, really just about anything that exists in the game, you can find on this site. If it’s an item or person you need to find there’s generally a map on the page with a dot where it is, and always be sure to check the comments from other users. They’re an amazing resource.
Additionally, there’s a ton of guides, tools, and other resources on the site as well. It has a well-earned reputation for being the #1 fan site for information and help for a reason. If I’m not around, and you have a question, always check wowhead first.

You can log into this site using your pre-existing Twitch account. Download and install the client. You should use and check the client (it’s called a Twitch client once it’s all installed and setup, so be prepared for that). I’ll help you figure out which addons you need and how to set them up. ^.^
4. Elv UI: https://www.tukui.org: https://www.tukui.org
You need to create an account here (free) and download the client for windows. Then install Elv UI. This will require some setting up in-game once it’s installed, and I’ll walk you through that. Thereafter you can keep it updated by using the tukui client on your computer.
There are a bunch of different chat channels available in WoW, depending on what you’re doing. They break down into 3 basic categories:
Global: These channels are accessible basically anywhere in the world, with one exception.
/1 General - This is the zone-wide chat channel, for whichever zone you’re in. If you’re in a city, like Stormwind, this a channel that is visible by everyone in that zone, and only the people in that zone.
/2 Trade Chat - This is a global channel that is accessible by anyone (and everyone) in any major city (Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, the Exodar, the Shrine in Pandaria, Dalaran (both old and new), and Shattrath, as well as your garrison in Draenor, and your class hall in Legion.
Guild: Only accessible to members of that guild. Each guild has its own. Though our guild has additional channels which I’ll have you
/g - You already figured this one out! Yay!
Chat: These channels come and go and change depending on what you’re doing.
/tell - Whispers someone with a private message. You can also press “r” to reply to a whisper you receive. To use the /tell command you have to type /tell and then the name of the player, so for example, to send a whisper saying “hi” to someone name Vega, you would type:
/tell Vega
Now, this can become complicated when using groupfinder and other things that introduce you to players from other realms, and on our realms that are connected like ours, where you might have someone whose name is technically Vega-Blackhand, but to work around that, you can generally click their name in chat, or use the /tt command, which tells it TellTarget, so it’s basically sending a tell to your currently targeted player.
/p - party chat. A party is a 5 man group, typically used for questing or dungeon content.
/r - raid chat. This is a group of up to 40 people, used for end-game content. You can create a raid with as few as two people, but that’s generally only for very specific purposes. Just as a note, in general, you cannot complete quests while in a raid group. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but those are specific occasions and we’ll burn that bridge when we get there.
