I like looking at storyboards. This one is made by Clio Chiang and I had no idea the original had Branch looking at the troll tree while telling his story.

John Dory and Viva would go on an oldest sibling trip one day, during which creek vanishes under mysterious circumstances. Branch and Poppy can’t confirm it but they’re pretty sure they killed him.

IT'LL BE LIKE IN "An Uninvited Guest" BY JasicoWhatHaveYouDoneToMe OH MY GOD. NOBODY WOULD ACTUALLY CARE THAT HES GONE AND JUST IGNORE THE GLARING OBVIOUS THING THAT HAPPENED

Viva and JD are like "lol bye guys! Have fun love birds!" And then in the middle of the night Creek feels something over his mouth and before he can scream, open his eyes fully, or process it he is being dragged out of the bed by his ankles

They bring him out to Lonesome Flats, where Delta Dawn allows them to take care of Creek and bury him. They then proceed to spend a day or two out there, talking to Delta Dawn, before going back home

The two older siblings take a few steps out of Rhonda, and automatically Viva and Poppy lock eyes from across the way. Branch is running up to JD to welcome him back, but the Pop Royals are just looking at each other, a knowing look on each other's face. One that only siblings can understand; the same look they had when they talked about their father as the years go along.

Poppy then snaps back to her normal self, as if she was a stressed rubber band. She looks happy to see her sister and announces Creek is gone, feigning being horribly sick as her subjects come to welcome back the two eldest siblings.

Branch hugs his brother, who hugs Branch a little too tight for a moment and Branch then understands what happened to Creek. He smiled ever so slightly as he backs away. JD grabs Branch by the face and gives him a big grin before lightly smacking a single cheek and letting him go
