Description: Jisung’s secret crush on his childhood friend, you, might not be so secret after all, especially when your tutee starts laying moves on you right in front of his iced americano.
Warning: none!
Word Count: 2.6k
Pairing: fem!reader x Jisung
“Y/N?” Jisung calls out as soon as you walk past the library doors.
You smile and wave to him while flashing your ID card for the person at the front desk. He waves you over so you go to him.
“Jisung? What are you doing here?”
“I thought I’d make some extra money this semester, so I signed up to tutor underclassmen during this hour.”
You let out a gasp. “Same!”
“What are the odds?” he chuckles, feigning surprise. It isn’t like he bribed Chan, the head of the program, to tell him what time slot you signed up for, nor is it like he fought Hyunjin tooth and nail for this time either. The only reason why you and him are at the same place on a Wednesday afternoon is pure coincidence. Really.

It is only when the cold morning air slips under your shirt does the gravity of the whole situation make your hands shake and your knees buckle. You immediately crouch under the illumination of a streetlight as tears pour from your eyes. What are you going to do now? You have no job let alone a place to stay. Not to mention the scars left by your lover render your mind immobile. You never once thought things would turn out like this when you married him. Never had this night crossed your mind every time he touched you, sending tingles across your skin, or every time he said your name like it was the only name that mattered in the world. You were so in love, and if you are being honest, you still are no matter how much he’s betrayed you. Still, you know it’s for your own good that you move on, but can you?
“Are you in pain?”
Your head snaps up at the voice of a stranger. Before you stands a sophisticated man dressed in a handsome tuxedo. You know who he is. The whole town knows who he is.
“Do you want to forget it all?”

Bangchan:
Dates with Chan had been sparse lately. It wasn’t his fault. They were doing promotions for a comeback and Chan had absolutely zero free time and any time he did have, despite his protests, you wanted him to spend resting. “Y/n, please! I wanna see you!” Chan whined over the phone.
You sighed and looked at the time. The boys were still at the company, but would most likely be at the dorms in an hour or two. “Okay how about this. I’ll come over to the dorms and cook dinner for you and the boys tonight. That way you guys can have dinner as soon as you get home.” There was silence on the phone. “Chan? Chris? You there, love?”
“Sorry, you just made my heart explode.”
You laughed and hung up the phone. After a short car ride, you were inside the dorm and cooking a nice dinner for your incredible boyfriend and his band members. The steam from the cooking vegetables were starting to make you sweat a little. Grabbing a clip from your bag you pulled your hair out of your face and continued making the boys a good meal.
“Y/NNNNNNNNN!” Several boys screamed as the dorm door burst open. You smiled and finished putting food on plates. Felix attacked you with a hug and Hyunjin and Jisung followed soon after. “This looks really good, Y/n,” Felix said when everyone was seated at the table, Chan beside you. “I’m glad to have a break from cooking for these weirdos.”
Soon Chan was sending all the boys off to bed with full bellies and food comas. “I’ve missed you so much,” He said taking your hands and sitting on the arm of the couch. “You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to see you and talk to you, to hold you, and… other things,” Chan said blushing.
“What kind of other things?”
Chan looked down and shrugged, his dimples making a shy appearance. You watched him play with your fingers, subconsciously pulling you closer to him. It didn’t take a psychic to know what was on his mind. With a smile, you leaned down and pressed your lips against his. He smiled into the kiss, his thumb rubbing over your skin. When you pulled away Chan had the dopiest grin across his face. He fell back onto the couch, staring up at the ceiling in a trance making you laugh.
“That was so awesome.”
Minho:
Minho sat next to you on the couch. He wasn’t necessarily close to you, but he wasn’t on the farthest side of the sofa either. The boys had been hinting that maybe your feelings for Minho were reciprocated. You had been reading into everything lately and you still came up with nothing. Minho was impossible.
The focus of the boy next to you was heavily trained on his phone. Some random game was enticing his attention away from you. Giving up, you crossed your arms and stared at the TV.
After letting out many precisely planned sighs hoping to grab Minho’s attention and failing you conceded and started flipping channels. Settling for a drama you watched the soap opera romance that played out on the screen. An hour passed and your stomach was beginning to growl.
“I’m gonna order a pizza.” You said pulling out your phone. Minho hummed in response. rolling your eyes you walked into the kitchen to grab a soda for you and the thick headed boy in your living room. The doorbell rang and you looked to the couch. Minho showed no sign of getting up still zoned in on his phone. “Don’t worry I’ll get it.” Your feet trudged over the door and you gave the pizza guy a half assed smile.
“Hi! That will be $22.46.” The boy smiled when you handed him the money as well as a nice tip. “Thanks, have a good night!”
You closed the door and plopped back onto the couch setting the pizza on the coffee table. A hand grabbed your wrist before you could open the hot cardboard box. Minho smashed his lips on yours, hand coming to the back of your neck. He pushed you onto the couch, hovering on top of you. Caught up in the moment your hands tangled in his hair enticing Minho to deepen the kiss.
As quickly as he had come onto you, he retreated, moving back to his previous spot on the couch and reaching for the pizza. You lay on the couch, completely confused. “What the hell was that?” Minho shrugged acting as if nothing had happened.
“What?” He picked up a slice and took a bite out of it. “I’m not allowed to kiss my girlfriend?”
You shook your head in disbelief. What? “Girlfr- What? When did this happen?” Again he shrugged like this was common knowledge you were the dumbest person on the planet, and you were starting to feel that way. He thought you were dating already?
“Y/n, you’ve cat-sitted for me at least twenty times. In my book, we are in a committed relationship after ten.” He handed you a slice of pizza and turned back to the TV. You watched as he threw an arm around your shoulders and pulled you into his side. “Congrats on being my girlfriend, dummy.”
Changbin:
“Seo Lewis Changbin!”
“Oh no.” Your best friend mumbled. He took off his headphones and turned to see you marching through the door of his studio. The pissed off expression on your face said everything and also nothing. Changbin only had a matter of seconds to recount everything he had done in the last twenty-four hours and apologize or face the consequences. “Hi, gorgeous, how’s your day?”
You simply rose an eyebrow and he quickly shut up. “Changbin, do you have something to tell me?” You could see the gears turning in his brain. The gears screaming ‘what did I do wrong this time’.
It was honestly a little fun to watch him squirm. You crossed your arms and ignored the giggles coming from the other side of the studio door. You knew Felix and Seungmin had followed you down the hall. They were the ones who told you about Changbin in the first place. “I’m sorry that I used your sweatshirt to clean up Minho’s cat piss. But you can have my hoodie.”
“YOU WHAT?”
He screamed as my hands attacked any unshielded spot on his body. “Stop! STOP! I BRUISE EASILY!” You huffed and stepped away. Changbin rubbed his bicep as if you had actually hurt him. “I’m sorry okay!” He scorched farther away from you. Though you had gotten him to confess it wasn’t the secret you were looking for.
“While I am pissed about that, and you will be getting me a new hoodie, that isn’t what I was talking about.” Changbin watched with wary eyes as you inched forward and leaned on the arms of his office chair. “I had a little conversation with Seungmin and Felix earlier.” Changbin visibly gulped.
“Oh no.”
“Oh yes.”
“They sold me out?”
“They did indeed.” Changbin’s ears turned a dark shade of red. How you had never noticed your effect on your best friend before you would never know. Possibly because you were too focused on your own infatuation. Leaning forward, you pressed your lips to his, capturing them in a sweet kiss. Tilting your head you let your teeth drag slowly across Changbin’s bottom lip.
“Was that like a friend kiss or-?” Changbin asked when you pulled away. You rolled your eyes and kissed him again before he could ask another stupid question.
Hyunjin:
Hyunjin was walking you home after a late night boba date. His hand was intertwined with yours as you walked in the warm spring air. “When is your next free day?” You asked swinging your hands as you strolled down the dimly lit streets. You felt safe with your boyfriend next to you.
He hummed, head lifting to the sky in thought. “I think…two weeks from now?” You sighed and he brought your hand up to his lips, kissing your knuckles. “I know, baby.” It was hard not seeing Hyunjin. He himself was having withdrawal issues from your company and the boys were starting to notice. His dating ban wasn’t up for another three months, so the two of you had to sneak around.
“What about nights?” He shooked his head ‘no’ and stopped under a street lamp. Leaning you back against the steel pole, you looked up at Hyunjin. “What about before morning meetings?” Hyunjin laughed, the sound making you smile.
He ran a hand through his blonde hair and dragged his touch down your arm. “Y/n, you and I both know neither of us are going to get up at four thirty in the morning.” You laughed and pulled Hyunjin closer to you, wrapping your arms around his neck.
Hyunjin gave you a soft smile and looked down at you. He made your heart pound in your chest. “I don’t know how I’m going to make it two weeks without you, Jinnie.” He sighed, nuzzling into your neck.
“Believe me, if you can’t then I definitely won’t.” You ran a hand through his soft hair making him sigh in content. Eventually, he pulled away and stared at you with longing. His eyes looked from your eyes to your mouth in question. After seeing the smallest nod he leaned in pressing his lips against yours.
You smiled into the kiss, threading your fingers through Hyunjin’s hair. He pulled away and rested his forehead against yours. “What if I just ran away with you right now?”
“Jisung would absolutely murder you. You’re supposed to record tomorrow.” You said a little breathless, wanting his lips on yours again.
“True. Very true.” He came back, another fiery kiss being shared between you. His tongue swiped across your bottom lip before slipping into your mouth. The two of you savored your last moments together under the dim golden glow of the street lamp.
Jisung:
“Hey, handsome,” You answered your ringing phone.
Jisung’s tired voice came through the call. “Y/n, baby, can you come over to the dorm?” You checked your watch and saw it was almost 2:30 in the afternoon. Usually, he was at the studio until three in the morning.
“Sure. I’ll be there in like ten minutes.” Slipping on a big hoodie and your shoes you grabbed your wallet and car keys and drove over to the dorms. When you got there most of the boys were in the kitchen or the common room. “Hi guys! Where’s Jisung?”
Chan waved and gave you a hug. “Oh- he’s in his room. Top bunk.” The boys waved as you walked by and you knocked quietly on the last door. A muffled voice belonging to your boyfriend told you to come in. You saw a single sweatpant covered leg hanging off one of the top bunks. Jisung’s head peeked over the side and he gave you a smile.
“Hi!” He said sleepily. Your sock feet padded over to the bed and you looked at him from over the side. “You wanna take a nap with me?” There was no helping the laugh that escaped.
“You called me just to take a nap with you?” He nodded, his eyes already droopy. It looked like he was waiting to fall asleep until you arrived. With a sigh, you began climbing up the ladder and Jisung lifted up the covers giving you a place to lay on his chest. “This is a tiny bed.”
“Shhhh. It’s nap time baby.”
Eventually, the both of you fell asleep. It was easy to relax in Jisung’s arms. He radiated warmth with his arms and legs wrapped around you. Soon your eyes blinked open only to find a dark room. You reached over Jisung to grab his phone. You looked to see it was nearing 11 o’clock at night. “What’s wrong, babe?” Jisung mumbled feeling you move. You told him the time and he laughed. “There’s no point in you leaving, so why don’t you just spend the night?” He whispered.
He smiled feeling you nod and he started running his long fingers through your hair. In the low light, you could only barely make up the features of Jisung’s face. You were only slightly surprised to feel Jisung’s lips on yours. The kiss was slow and sleepy, but sweet none the less. Your hands already around his stomach slipped under his shirt., feeling his warm skin.
Sleepy kisses were exchanged, Jisung’s long fingers playing with your hair and holding you close in the dark. He pulled you on top of him, leaving no space between you. After a while, the both of you fell back asleep and didn’t wake until morning
Felix:
Felix got a running start before launching himself off the cliff and into the water. You watched from the shore of the little alcove the two of you had found. You cheered seeing your boyfriend resurface in the center of the clear watering hole. “You gonna try?” He called, treading water. You shook your head, and he rolled his eyes. “Come on, there’s a smaller ledge, closer to the water.”
You looked to the rock face Felix had climbed moments earlier. The colors of green and blue were vibrant around you, making your own little paradise. “Fine.” Felix smiled, seeing you shed your coverup and began swimming back to the shore. He took your hand and led you to a smaller ledge half as high as the one he had previously jumped off of. The waterfall roared next to you and Felix laced his fingers with yours.
“Ready?” You nodded, a nervous smile on the corner of your mouth. You were comforted seeing Felix’s grin. “3, 2,..1!” The two of you leaped from the ledge and into the cool clear water, screams escaping as you fell. Felix held onto your hand tightly as the two of you sank beneath the water’s surface. “Wasn’t that fun?” He exclaimed as the two of you swam above the surface.
“Yeah, okay. That was fun.”
Felix smiled as the two of you treaded water. “You wanna do something else fun?” Before you could answer Felix started swimming to the waterfall. Trusting him, you followed. He gently took your hand, lifting you up on the slippery rocks. He led the two of you carefully behind heavy curtain of water into a tiny cave. The roaring of the falls echoed in the small space, obstructing your view of your secret alcove.
“Wow!” You said, reaching your hand under the water. Felix grinned, wet hair falling in front of his eyes. Stepping carefully, he made his way over to you wrapping his arms around your waist.
“Can I kiss you?”
Your eyes widened at his bluntness, but you nodded palms resting against his bare chest. Hesitantly, Felix leaned down and pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was slow at first, then picked up as Felix grew more confident. His lips danced against yours, one of his hands coming to tangle in your hair. The two of you parted, breathe heavy and lovestruck grins plastered on your faces.
Felix pulled away and started to do a little dance making you laugh. “What the hell are you doing?” He just continued to do his weird little dance as you watched and laughed at your dorky boyfriend behind the waterfall.
Seungmin:
Two weeks after Seungmin and you started dating, he and the rest of the boys left for a US tour. Thankfully his dating ban had been lifted early after an analysis by the company, so Seungmin was free to spend time with you anytime he wanted as long as it didn’t interfere with his schedules.
Your fingers tapped against your steering wheel. The red light turned green and you drove the rest of the way to the airport. Chan called you early this morning, about two hours ago, and told you their flight was getting in at five-thirty in the morning. You yawned, pulling into Seoul International Airport. Seungmin had called you the night before and told you not to bother meeting him since they would be arriving so early in the morning. But, you were determined.
After asking an attendant she directed you the flight gate the boys would be coming from. The sign you had made in the last hour, was bumping up against your legs as you ran through the cold airport. Seungmin’s sweatshirt was blocking the cold air from hitting your skin as you looked for gate A6.
A few other people were waiting as you approached the gate, but you pushed your way to the front. Your eyes frantically searched the sea of people as passengers came off the plane. Spotting Chan’s curly frizzy hair you held up your sign with a huge grin on your face.
Chan spotted you first and then laughed at your sign. He called back into the group of boys behind him, who all turned to look at you. Before you knew it, your boyfriend was pushing himself to the front of the group and he laughed when he saw your sign, falling to the ground and covering his face.
‘Welcome Home Hot Stuff’ the sign read with a funny meme of Seungmin that Felix had sent you a couple days ago glue on the poster board. Not wanting to be apart from you anymore Seungmin ran over and wrapped you up in his arms. “Y/n, I have missed you so much. Why are you here? It’s 5:30! Is this my sweatshirt? I can’t believe you’re here! Honey, I’ve missed you so much-”
You smashed your lips against his cutting off his ramblings. After getting over the shock, Seungmin kissed you back, dropping everything in his hands. He cupped your face, thumbs brushing over your cheeks. Your head was spinning in the best way possible. “Welcome home, Minnie.” You whispered against his lips, making him smile.
“Let’s go get breakfast.” He said with a smile and took the sign from you, looking at your craft project.
Jeongin:
Jeongin and you lay on the floor of your dorm room a board game between the two of you. Rain pelted against your window, thunder rolling outside. Jeongin moved his game piece six spaces before looking up at you with a smile. You sat with a mug of warm tea in your hands and Jeongin’s hoodie swallowing you in warmth.
“You are too cute,” Jeongin mumbled, leaning his cheek into his palm.
Attempting to hide your blush, you brought the steaming cup up to your mouth and took a sip. “Jeongin, really you don’t have to stay here. I’m no scared of the storm.” He shrugged and rolled the dice for you, moving it four spaces. You got up, the sweatshirt falling over your shorts. The mug clunked against the wood as you set it on your desk.
Jeongin watched you walk over and pulled you down into his lap. “What if I’m the one scared of the storm?” He questioned, pushing a piece of hair away from your face. Rolling your eyes you giggled and kissed his cheek. “Okay, you’re right. I’m not scared of the storm.”
“Innie, you’re welcome to stay as long as you want. My roommate is staying at her boyfriend’s.”
Jeongin smiled, placing a loving kiss on the side of your neck. He reached over and rolled the dice as lightning flashed outside. The cold air of the dorm made you snuggled deeper into the warm fabric of Jeongin’s hoodie. Sensing movement in his lap he wrapped a protective arm around you as he moved his game piece with his other hand.
“I think I’m going to win in the next two moves.” You said, causing your boyfriend to turn his head. He looked at you with raised brows and laughed.
“Oh really?”
You nodded and moved your piece to the final block on the board. “Yep. I win.” Jeongin laughed and looked into your eyes. His knuckles brushed over your cheek his breath ghosting over your lips. You inched forward, desperately wanting to close the small gap between you. A smirk tilted on the corner of Jeongin’s mouth, seeing your impatience.
Softly, gently, his lips pressed against yours. His lips tasted like coffee, and he smelled like the rain that was falling outside. You dragged your lips against his savoring every moment with him. As you pulled away Jeongin chases after your lips, making you giggle.
Your eyes looked to the window and Jeongin trailed his lips tenderly down your jaw, before resting his chin on your shoulder. “You stand corrected.” He whispered, kissing your lips again. “I win.”

“The most notorious gang leader in Victorian London can gouge out the eyes of men, steal from the corrupted rich, and terrify an entire city, but cannot figure out a few complicated feelings with you.”
s u m m a r y >> the leader of the sons of seoul, the wanted criminal mastermind, christopher bang, has the courage to commit any deed save for confronting you, his most trusted accomplice, about his feelings. however, when opportunity arises, in the shape of an invitation to a grand seasonal ball, to take down his fated enemy, he takes you to the heart of a lavish estate, both of you unaware of actions that occur inside, and after the mission.
w a r n i n g s >> gonna be using chris instead of chan cause it’s set in 1860s london, chan is a dom of course, jisung and changbin are dumb and dumber, are also massive cockblockers, some cliché scenes cause i’m a sucker for them, sexual! tension!, gore, foul language, making out, dirty talk, aggressiveness, semi-public fingering, unprotected sex (stay safe homies!!), oral (f. receiving), multiple orgasms, chan has a thing for being called his korean name, whack spelling for ‘cum’ as ‘come’ cause technically that word didn’t exist in 1860s, there is a plot so there will be build up
a / n > > so i went way over the 10k originally planned lmfaoooo but i hope y’all enjoy this oneshot! i worked my ass off on it and hopefully y’all can appreciate gang leader chan in 1860s london cause honestly i’m a 100% whore for that concept

IT WAS A UNIVERSAL LAW THAT ONE MUST NEVER FUCK WITH CHRISTOPHER BANG. EVER.
Whatever charge you may have against him, it must be withdrawn. Whatever he had done to you — robbed you, murdered your son, destroyed your entire existence — it did not matter. There were always limits, and trying to challenge this specific criminal would only result in your undoing.
It seemed the target, cornered before you and the very man himself, did not fully understand this order.

“Love is a feeling that can’t be controlled. Just like how we can’t help falling in love, we can’t help but fall out of it either.”
—————————————————————————
31st December, 2020
You’re aware of Hyunjin’s presence behind you. You saw this coming when you agreed to attend Jennie’s New Year party.
Knowing the kind of person he was, you knew he would confront you, that you’d have to answer all his questions before he let you go.
And this scared you. Not the confronting part. The part where he would let you go. Again.
He slides beside you and leans on the railing like you.
For some time all you can hear is the loud music inside, people chattering and the sound of traffic beneath you.
The night is chilly but you embrace it after managing to maneuver your way through the living room where Jisung and Changbin were screaming (or having a friendly banter as they liked to call it) at each other for another stupid reason.
If you tried you could clearly hear Hyunjin breathing beside you over all that noise. And you welcome this familiar homely feeling after a while.
“It’s been a long time, how have you been?”
His voice cuts through the night like a sharp knife, yet you feel warm when you finally hear his voice.
“I’ve been…well. What about you?” A fog escapes your mouth in front of you.
He hums before responding. And you wish he didn’t.
“Besides the fact that I’ve missed you like crazy, I guess you could say I’m doing good.”
Your heart picks up pace at his words, the adrenaline gushing through you, more than enough to fight the cold.
You don’t turn towards him. The whole evening you’ve been avoiding his gaze and involved yourself in as little conversation as you could with him.
“Did you miss me?” He asks, his voice coming out in a whisper, as if he was afraid of the answer.
His eyes are filled with anguish when you don’t respond for some time. Your face is hidden by your hair and his hands itch to tuck them behind your ears like he used to. He can’t fathom what you’re thinking and wishes you would meet his eyes once before the night gets over, and you go your own ways again.
“Y/n?” You can hear the desperation in his voice, the longing in it.
You want to turn around and go inside but you can’t move.
Your limbs feel heavy out in the cold and maybe, just maybe, the real reason you don’t want to leave is because Hyunjin was here. Right beside you.
“Yes,” your voice is a whisper but Hyunjin is listening carefully, straining his ears to catch every word you say.
And then finally you meet his eyes properly for the first time.
“I missed you too, a lot.”
●●●
You were dreading the moment when Hyunjin would enter your apartment.
He had called you about an hour ago, telling you he needed to talk.
Had things been better between you, you wouldn’t have had this nerve wracking moment right now as you uncomfortably sat on your couch.
You saw this coming, you knew it would happen. Sooner or later, you knew he’d fall out of love with you.
The door clicks and Hyunjin saunters in, his face tired and an inexplicable expression in his eyes.
You get up from where you were seated and despite the horrible feeling in your chest you give him a small smile and hug him, holding him a bit longer.
He notices and immediately feels sorry for what was about to unfold.
“Do you want me to make you something? You must be hungry after your practice,” you start moving towards the kitchen but he holds you back by your wrist.
“Y/n, please, let’s just get this over with fast.”
If you felt overly nervous a few minutes ago, his words now made you feel dead. As of nothing was left for you to do.
You nod and sit on the couch.
At first he says nothing, running a hand though his hair and twisting the ring around his finger. Something you had noticed he did when he was frustrated or annoyed.
You sit patiently, waiting for him to deliver the blow. The only sound to be heard was the soft ticking of the clock.
After what felt like an eternity he finally decides to speak.
“I’m sorry.”
That’s it.
Those two words, and you know it’s over between you guys. All those weeks you tried telling yourself that you could still save this relationship, all those times you cried yourself to sleep on an empty and cold bed, all those times you barely received a response to your texts and calls, you thought it was enough to prepare you for this.
“I just can’t. I can’t do this to you anymore, I love you, really I do, but just…not enough. Not as much as I used to.” He looks up at you, his eyes moist.
God, he wished that you’d say something, do something, anything, slap him or even yell at him. But he really wished you wouldn’t stay so quiet.
“How long?” You mumble and meet his eyes, “how long have you felt like this?”
“A year,” he replies. You’re not surprised at that. What you are surprised at is the fact that he put up with this for a whole year.
“I tried Y/n, I really did. At first I thought that it was because we were both busy and if we put in more effort, it would work. But after a while, I knew it wasn’t time, it was just me. God, I’m so sorry,” he buries his head in his hands and the tears start flowing.
He felt pathetic, even hated himself for this. But he would never blame you. You were so sweet, supporting him even without him asking, getting him food and cheering for him even when he himself had no self confidence. You provided him with a homely comfort, and made him have faith in himself again.
You were always there for him, and he only just noticed.
Even that night as he cried, apologising a million times, you held him in your arms and said it was okay.
“Listen to me Hyunjin,” you cup his face and make look at you, tears staining his red cheeks, “I don’t blame you Hyunjin.”
“B-but I’m the bad one here,” he hiccups.
“I’m the worst boyfriend ever, I never made time for you and never-”
You cut him off. If there was one thing that deeply wounded you, was the fact that Hyunjin blamed himself for everything. And you weren’t going to let that happen.
“Don’t say that, you always made time for me. Don’t think I didn’t notice how tired you were and still insisted on going on dates with me after practice. And the fact that you…that you wanted to make this work for a whole year, I can’t imagine how pathetic you must have felt being around me.” You say, guilt washing over you.
“You say it like being around you exhausted me,” he mumbles placing a hand over yours.
“I noticed Jinnie, I noticed how things started changing, but I kept holding you back. We could have ended this months ago and you wouldn’t have felt like this, if anything, I’m the one who should say sorry.”
“But I fell out of of love, do you know how ashamed I am of it? Even after everything you did for me, I fell out of of love.”
You shake your head and smile sadly.
“Jinnie, love is a feeling that you can’t help falling in. It just…happens. One moment you’re just standing on a quiet cliff, enjoying your surroundings, and the next, it just comes out of nowhere and swoops you down in its wings down the cliff. It makes you feel like you’re falling and yet protected in its wings.”
Hyunjin looks at you and lets your definition of love settle down. Is that how he made you feel?
He’s looking at you but you’re staring at your clasped hands, your next words coming out in a soft whisper.
“And just like how a feeling never lasts for eternity, you can’t help but fall out of love either. It takes efforts to make something like love last.”
“So, we’re both at fault? ” he asks, as if treading on egg shells.
You nod and offer him a soft smile, the same one which had made him fall head over heels in love with you.
“We failed, but it’s okay. We’ll find love again, with someone else maybe, but we’ll make it work. It’s supposed to be like that.”
He hugs you, and you have a feeling it would be the last time you’d be receiving that hug, so you hug him back, relishing it.
When he left after some more tears and a lot of consolations, promising to still be friends, you plop on your couch.
Engulfed in the solitude of your house, which you know will no longer feel the same without Hyunjin, you take a moment before letting this new feeling settle down.
Your eyes are finally tearing up knowing that you were on your own now, and that you’ll never find someone like him.
That night you cry yourself to sleep on the couch, hoping that when you woke up, you’d feel better.
●●●
Present
“Then why didn’t you ever call me?” Hyunjin accuses you.
He’s hoping you’d tell him why you left after promising him that this changed nothing between you guys, that you’d still be the best of friends.
“I couldn’t bring myself to do that,” you reply nonchantly.
Truth be told, there were many times that you had picked up your phone to dial his number but had always stopped yourself in the end.
Because you knew that if you called him, you’d end up crying and falling for him yet again, something which you had tried to move on from after a lot of efforts.
“You never even told me that you were leaving,” his voice becomes sad and whiny and you almost laugh.
“I wasn’t obligated to.” It comes out apologetically.
He gulps before asking the inevitable.
“Do you not…do you still love me?
Now you’re looking at his face, trying to familiarise yourself with his handsome features.
Was it possible for him to get any more handsome than he already was? Sure, his boyish charms had worn off, only to be replaced by a more mature and manly one. His face looked more angular in the dim lighting, his features smoother and his hair had grown to almost a mullet.
You really wanted to stroke his cheeks and kiss his plump lips while running your hand through his silky hair.
Yes, you loved him. You never stopped loving him.
But he wasn’t yours anymore.

"Are you serious right now?” Jennie exclaimed while you sipped your milkshake.
“Please don’t make me think otherwise Jen, I’m not changing my mind.” You reply is calm, unlike Jennie who’s still in shock at your proclamation.
“Y/n, this isn’t…well let’s just say I wasn’t expecting this.”
You shrug.
You weren’t expecting this either. But how many people ever really got a chance like this?
You had it all planned. You already signed the contract this morning, you were just waiting for a call from the company.
Once everything was deemed okay, you could leave at once.
“Look, I know you’ve been waiting since ages to get promoted and all, but this?” Jennie is speechless for a moment, “This seems too rushed, don’t you think?”
You bite your lips and frown. You knew there was truth in what she said, but after a year of being in a slump, with book proposals thinning out, you were more than ready to try something new. Besides this place was making you feel so suffocated, you were willing to accept a change.
“Besides, I might sound like a bad friend, but you’re a writer Y/n, and as much as I support you and your works, this field is difficult. You can’t just throw away a stable job to go…backpacking!”
“It’s not just backpacking, I’ll be writing all through the journey. Something like a travel writer,” you try to reason, although now that Jennie had said it out loud, you were having second thoughts.
But no time for that now. You were only going to look forward and not have any regrets.
She sighs when she realises that your mind was made up.
“What about Hyunjin? Have you told him yet?” She steals a sip from your glass.
You frown at the boy’s name. It’s not that you hated him, it’s just that you had drifted apart in the past year. He already had a fling going on and as much as it hurt you to see him with another person, you really didn’t have the heart to be mad at him.
Besides, he looked happier.
“No, I just don’t know how to have a conversation with him anymore. It’s like…I can’t get over him, no matter what.” You sigh.
She holds your hand across the table.
“Don’t beat yourself over him Y/n, we all expected you to last too. When you told us you had broken it off…let’s just say, Chan and Woojin made sure to lecture him.”
Your eyes widen at this new piece of information.
“Oh no, please tell me they weren’t too harsh on him. Really it wasn’t his fault-” You stop when you notice Jennie glaring at you.
“Why are you always like this?” She points an accusing finger at you, “Why do you keep defending that ass?”
“Jen, you don’t understa-”
“Then make me understand Y/n! Do you know how shocked and worried I was at how you didn’t go through the normal post breakup syndromes?”
You almost laughed but thought better of it. When Jennie was angry, you wouldn’t want to anger her further. You had learnt this the hard way.
“I can’t always grab hold of things and feelings like that Jen, if I did, at some point I might have made him run away. But I was glad that he told me.”
“Is that why you just gave up on your job? Because it’s easy for you to let go?” She scowls.
You don’t know how to answer that, but it sure gets you thinking.
She shakes her head at your lousy explanation, but you were being genuine.
You finish your drinks in silence and she drops you back home, waving you off with a rather sullen expression, but deep down she loved you a lot and was worried about you.
Only when you’re about to doze off at night do Jennie’s words strike your mind.
You allow yourself a small smile, snuggling into your sheets as you hug your pillow, a substitute you had soon found once you realised Hyunjin wasn’t going to sleep by your side anymore.
Who said it was easy letting go?
●●●
Present
“You aren’t answering me,” Hyunjin frowns as you look away from him.
“Please Jinnie, I…it’s to early in the night to have this conversation.” You sigh.
He dropped the topic, but he was sure to bring it up later.
“Jennie told me that you left. I mean, I found out of course, but I didn’t know where you left to, and when she told me…I really…respected you. For making such a bold decision.”
“It was a chance in a million, I wasn’t going to let it go that easily.” You smile.
“Was it fun?” He asks indulgently, genuinely interested about your travel tales.
“Yeah, there were so many places to travel, so much to see, to hear and experience. When I came back, I felt like I had learned a lot of new things. Travelling made me think with a broader perspective.”
“I read all your articles,” he says with a dreamy expression, “You were always so good at expressing yourself. It felt like I was there even though I wasn’t…you know? ” he says, his nose scrunching up in an effort to explain what he meant.
You laughed at his cute effort. It rang out loud and clear in the chilly night, and he felt a warmth emanate in his chest, something he had not felt in a long time.
Hyunjin was the one who let his actions speak louder than his words. When he would be entranced with something he would just stare at it and keep exclaiming loudly, having temporarily lost his ability to form coherent speech.
You however, had a bit more control of your emotions and let your words do the talking.
It was a perfect balance between you both. Even without words, Hyunjin loved you a lot. He let you do the talking, gazing at you with a lovestruck expression, your voice soothing him, and more often than not would he be lost in your expressions that he wouldn’t actually register what you were saying.
But you never got angry, pouting once in a while, but it was so endearing the way he would get all giggly when you acted cute.
Really, how could you ever hate him?
Even now, with all that had passed between you both, you didn’t hate him. If anything, you loved him more. And you hoped against hope, that whatever this fluttery feeling you had in your chest right, was not because of the boy standing on front of you.
But who were you trying to fool?
●●●
You gaze silently and sadly over the Seine river in Le Havre. This would be your final stop, after which you’d have to go back home.
Oddly, in the two years of your travelling, not once had you felt homesick. Maybe sometimes your heart ached when you saw the beautiful places that you thought you could have visited with a special someone, but it wasn’t enough to make you pine for home.
Now that you were already in the last city, you missed the good old days you had dates near the Han River in Seoul.
Was it still the same? Was anything still the same?
Your eyes wander about, taking in your surroundings, like a final goodbye.
Nights in Paris really were something. Almost like an intimate experience, your heart yearned to be one of those couples out there; kissing, holding hands and hugging.
You let the tears flow. You’re not sure whether they are solely because of a particular boy, but it might have also been because of the overwhelming feeling you had when you stood over the bridge.
An odd, sad yet endearing feeling. Like you were going to miss this place even though you only stayed here for two days.
But mostly because you felt so lonely. You wondered whether all solo travellers felt this lonely. They were always mingling with the local people, dancing, singing and having fun. Really, it was like they had nothing to lose.
But you wondered if at night, when they lay all alone in their hotel bed, did they feel lonely like you did?
Did they miss home? Did they miss their loved ones?
Because you did.
You missed him. So much.
●●●
Present
“You’re not doing that bad either. I heard that you’re now the lead choreographer for your company’s rising group.” You lean further on the railing, resting your chin on your hand.
He smiles, but there was something sad about it.
“Yeah, but at what cost?” He says, turning away from you.
You frown at this. Was he not happy? Was he having a hard time?
“What does that mean?” You voice your concerns, "Is something wrong?“
He looks at you as if trying to figure out whether you were really that dense or were just pretending. But you weren’t pretending, you really didn’t know.
"I lost you, didn’t I? All that hard work paid off, but in the end…I lost the most important person in my life.”
Oh.
So this is what it was about. He was talking about you.
“You - I… don’t know how to respond to that really…” you trail off in a rather lame way.
“I don’t expect you to answer me, not after everything I did to you.”
You’re getting more and more concerned as this conversation escalates.
“Hyunjin, you can’t seriously be blaming yourself after all these years? You know that’s just so stu-”
“Jennie really gave me quite an earful after you left. I didn’t mind, because it was my fault after all, ”
“Hyunjin, you-”
But he rants on, as if he didn’t hear you.
“I realised what an absolute ass I was, doing that to you. I can’t even start with how ashamed and disgusted I was at my own actions, how I let my feelings become a priority in out relation, how I never considered your feelings and just kept on apoplgising lamely,” he takes a deep breath before continuing,
“And you never told me. Never told me how hurt you were, never showed your feelings to me,” He’s looking at you now with moist yet intense eyes. You could feel his strong emotions, how they were clearly displayed in his eyes.
A part of you broke. You had hurt him.
You had hurt him by not expressing your feelings in a better way.
“Y/n why…why did you do it?” He’s crying now, his voice cracking as he questions you with sincerity.
You blink away your own tears, sniffing and looking away. If there’s one thing you can’t stand to persevere through, was watching your loved ones cry in front of you.
But he holds you by the shoulders and makes you face him.
“Please tell me Y/n, I need to know. Why didn’t you hold me back?”
You take a deep breath, his touch feels foreign, yet familiar. You want to let your knees, which were shaking, to give away just so you could fall into his embrace.
“It’s because…it’s because I loved you, a lot. If I held you back, what would that make me?”
You daringly place a hand on his cheek, expecting him to flinch or resist your touch, but he leans into your touch, his eyes still fixed on your face with a look you only wished was what you expected it to be.
“I would never force you to be unhappy with me. Yes, it hurt me a lot when you said you didn’t love me anymore, ” you choke up a little but push on, three years worth of feelings all rushing out of you, “And I wanted to hold onto you, beg you to not leave me, come to some kind of conclusion but…you just looked so…unhappy with me.”
“Y/n,” he holds your hand placed on his cheek gently, “I was never unhappy with you. Not a single moment I spent with you was ever unhappy. Even when we fought, I could never stay mad at you. It’s just…We were so caught up in our own lives, we forgot about us. And I was so immature, maybe I still am but…I never stopped loving you.”
“But you said that-”
“I was stupid okay?” His harsh tone makes you flinch. You’re surprised at the amount of self hate this boy has.
“I only realised what I had done when you were no longer there in my life. I…I can’t believe I said that, god I’m so fucking stupid. I’m so sorry Y/n, I’m so fucking sorry, but I miss you so much. And I love you.”
“You love me?” Your voice is a hesitant whisper.
It feels like your mind just made that up, that Hyunjin confessing to you right now was a mere figment of your imagination.
“I love you,” this time his voice is determined, as if making sure that you know the truth.
●●●
“Guys it’s ten seconds to midnight!” Someone, Jisung probably, screams from inside.
“Y/n,” you can hear the others starting a countdown in excitement.
You hum in response, your shoulders touching as you stood ready to welcome the new year.
“Can we…is it possible for us to start again?” He asks hesitantly, but you hear the underlying sincerity in his voice.
8…7…6…seconds to the new year.
There are people who believe in the half empty glass, and then there are ones who believe in the half filled glass.
Just like that, there are two ways this night could end, or two ways a new year could start.
5…4…
You know what you’re doing when you place your hands around his neck and pull him down ever so gently.
3…2…
As if on cue, just like the old days, his hands snaked around your waist and leaves tingles down your spine.
1…
The sky is filled with fireworks and the night with loud screams of ‘Happy New Years’ and cheers but you’re lost in the feeling of Hyunjin’s soft lips on yours, as he slowly but surely kisses you.
His kisses still felt great, a little teasing, a little passionate, but mostly, it conveyed his love.
You’re both moving with a slow and steady rythm, not too fast and not too slow. Just perfect.
When you pull apart, his lips are slightly swollen and his gaze is hooded. You hoped that this moment of bliss would never end.
As he held you close to his chest, your faces turned towards the sky splashed with vibrant colours of the fireworks, he hums in contentment.
Just the feeling of you back in his arms was exhilarating.
“We’ll make it work Y/n, I promise.” He mumbles into your hair.
You wholeheartedly agree with his words.
You might have failed in love the first time, but you’ll try again.
And this time succeed.

“C’mon, Eunsuh. Can you walk with me?”
You watched your friend’s face as her eyes filled with tears, hands covering her mouth like that would help the air stay in her lungs. You hated seeing her like this.
“It’s okay. That’s okay.” You wrapped one arm around your friend’s waist. “I’ve got you. Just hold on to me, okay?”
You understood vaguely how adrenaline worked. You also knew how Eunsuh’s asthma attacks worked–although this one was the worst you’d ever seen. It wasn’t that Eunsuh’s inhaler hadn’t worked but that she had panicked. It made her breathing and coughing even worse, and when you saw the color of her skin, all you could think of was getting her to the hospital. So you half carried her to the car and drove her to the closest Emergency Room.
You somehow managed to stay calm throughout the whole ordeal until Eunsuh was stable and resting under a pile of blankets. That’s when your hands started shaking.
You were watching the tremors in your fingers when the doctor who had helped Eunsuh stepped into the room and headed for her bedside to check on her. He took one look at you, frowned, and changed directions.

liar
you entered your apartment, the door beeping behind you to let you know that was now closed and secure. you took of your heels with a sigh as you plopped down on your living room sofa, hissing as you massaged the sore balls of your feet. looking up at the ceiling, you rolled your neck clockwise to ease the stiff feeling. once you were feeling much better than before, your eyes fluttered closed as you drank in the peace and tranquility.
at least, before someone rang your obnoxiously loud doorbell, that is.
frustrated, you marched to your door with the full intention of cussing out whoever interrupted your only quiet moment since the day started. you flung the door open, shocking the people outside.
“what do you want?” you seethed, glaring at the men in front of you.
one of them awkwardly cleared his throat as he took something out of his back pocket; a badge. your eyes widened as you realized who he was.
“uh, hello there! my name is choi yeonjun and this is my partner, kang taehyun. we work at the seoul police department.” he introduced himself, shooting you a polite smile. “are you y/n l/n?”
“yes! yes, i’m y/n. is something wrong, officers?” you stuttered, now feeling quite intimidated by them.
“um, i hate to be the bearer of bad news but... there’s something you should know. may i?” yeonjun looked past you and into your apartment, indirectly asking you for permission to enter.
you took a step back and gestured for them to come in and he gave you a grateful nod in return while taehyun ignored you completely.
“please, take a seat.” you told him, leading them to the sofa you were seated on only moments ago.
the leather of the couch squeaked as they sat down, with you quickly following suit. you found yourself bouncing your leg nervously, anxious for the bad news they had for you.
“we were told that you are choi soobin’s girlfriend, is that correct?” yeonjun questioned.
“yes, that’s right.” you answered, realization dawning on your face. “is he in trouble again? oh god, what did he do this time? i swear i told him to stay out of trouble-”
“he didn’t do anything.” interrupted taehyun, speaking for the first time.
“...then what’s wrong, officer?”
“he’s dead.” taehyun stated bluntly, making yeonjun wince.
“what?” you whispered.
“sorry for that, officer kang is a little... direct with his words.”
“yeah, no shit!” you exclaimed angrily. “how can he joke about that sort of thi-” you stopped yourself after yeonjun’s words registered in your mind. “wait, what do you mean, direct?”
sighing, yeonjun hung his head before raising it again and meeting your nervous gaze.
“unfortunately, mr. choi was involved in a hit-and-run accident. the crash was fatal and, uh, he died on the scene.” he explained slowly, scanning your face for your reaction.
for a moment, you were perfectly still, unable to comprehend his explanation. no, unwilling to comprehend. but as the gears clicked in your head and you understood why they came to your house, you felt your eyes prickle with tears.
“soobin’s... dead?” you asked, disbelief painted across your features.
yeonjun nodded grimly as taehyun continued to stare emotionlessly at you, almost as if he were bored. and with yeonjun’s affirmation, the waterworks began. you felt the tears slide down your cheeks and drop onto your lap, but you didn’t care. you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. those silent tears turned into loud, ugly wails as you sobbed into the cushion you had unconsciously grabbed.
the officers seemed uncomfortable with your crying, not knowing how to console you. yeonjun shifted in his spot while taehyun sighed and coughed to grab your attention. hearing taehyun’s cough, you tried your best to slow your sobs into sniffles, wiping at your runny nose.
“i’m sorry, it’s just... a lot to take in.” you had this weird urge to defend yourself, now feeling oddly vulnerable.
you probably looked a mess right now, eyes puffy and nose red, but you just couldn’t seem to care.
yeonjun avoided your gaze for a while, looking everywhere but at you. when he seemed sure that you were calmer, he looked at you once again.
“i’m sorry for your loss.” he spoke softly.
his words seemed sincere, his face showing true sympathy and sadness. his partner, on the other hand, was string blankly at you. it seemed as if that was the only facial expression he was capable of making, other than one of annoyance.
“thank you, officer.” you whispered softly.
giving you a grim smile, yeonjun stood up gently, as if to not startle you. taehyun stood up as well, straightening his jacket. they walked themselves out of your apartment after saying a gentle “goodbye”, giving you time to process the situation and mourn.
as the door closed behind them with a beep, you stopped crying, suddenly peaceful. you stood up and headed into the kitchen to get yourself a cold glass of water. you wiped away your tears, lip curling downwards in disgust at your now wet fingers. slowly, you trudged to your bedroom, wanting to take a nap.
acting like you didn’t know a thing was really tiring.
especially when you had been the one behind the steering wheel.

genre: enemies to lovers, fluff
pairing: han jisung x reader
warnings: none i don’t think
summary: when you’re forced to spend time with jisung, you find out that you have a lot of common interests, one of them being each other.
“ew what are you here for.” jisung says, swinging the door closed on your face.
“i’m here,” you say, stopping the door and pushing it open, stepping inside, “for my friends. where are they?”
“chan took them shopping.” he says sitting on the couch.
“and you’re not with them why?” you say sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the room.
“because i want to be alone,” he says sharply, “now you can stay here and wait or you can bless me with your nonexistence. personally i think the latter is the better option.”
you don’t move from your spot and glare at the boy who too enthralled with the television. you turn to it and watch with him and realize that he is watching anime.
“you watch anime?” you ask excitedly. it was the one thing you two had in common to your currently knowledge because you both had this whole enemies who tolerate each other for their mutual friends thing down pretty solid.
“yep.”
“that’s so cool! me too!” you say sitting at the edge of your seat to have an actual conversation.
“anything really,” he says, glancing at you quickly, “you?”
“i’m the same way but a friend of mine recommended that i watched hotarubi no mori e so i watched that recently and cried my eyes out,” you say, suddenly aware of your rambling, “like a little baby but i really couldn’t help it.”
“of course you’d watch something like that.” he scoffs and you immediately shrink back in your seat and quiet down. you stop talking and, instead, text your friends asking where they are to which none of them respond. you turn your attention back to the tv and watch silently, hoping not to disturb him again.
you know you had some sort of image to uphold in regards to jisung but it was getting tired. you already liked him, you just wanted to be liked by him. but it was clear that it wouldn’t happen so easily and you weren’t going to push the boy because that could end badly.
“can i ask one more question before i stop bothering you altogether?” you ask cautiously. he pauses the television and looks at you clearly annoyed, “why do we hate each other?”
“it restores balance to our friend group,” he deadpans and you frown a little, making him completely soften, “besides, if your stupid face wasn’t so cute i probably wouldn’t hate you as much.”
he mumbles the last part and unpauses the show continuing to watch as if you hadn’t heard him. you stifle a giggle and lean back in your chair more relaxed.
“well that’s not very ‘i hate you y/n i’d spit on your grave if i ever got the chance’ of you is it,” you say, eyebrows raise, “but if you must know, i think your dumb face is pretty cute too.”
you look over at him and see his eyes widen and his cheeks start to turn a light shade of pink. the tint was clear as day, even the the dimly lit room. the two of you go back to silently watch the show that got the two of you here. sitting across the room from each other. with an unreal amount of tension between you.
fortunately it was getting late and the tension could live no more as you were getting tired. you curl up. trying to get comfortable on a chair that size was almost impossible but soon enough you were dozing off and, soon after, sleeping peacefully.
later, you wake up, hearing the door handle jiggle and go to stand but you’re pulled back by arms. you look, very confused, to see a snoozing jisung holding you.
“how did i even get over here?” you whisper in a panic.
“you looked uncomfortable so i brought you over here instead of watching you ruin your spine trying to sleep in that chair.” jisung says, not even attempting to let you go. you struggle for a second and give up,
“let me go. the boys are gonna see.” you snap at him and he chuckles quietly, his breath on the back of your neck making the hair there stand up.
“we’re cuddling. so what? let them see.” he says, his grip pulling you back down as you try to get away from him before someone sees but, to your misfortune, felix waltzed in.
“see what?” he says before actually processing the sight he would see. you try to shush him and of course that doesn’t work, “uh guys i think you wanna come see this.
you look at jisung who was “fast asleep” but also smiling. you watch as the guys pile in the living room looking equally stunned.
“i knew this was gonna happen,” minho says making everyone turn to him puzzled, “i mean, the sexual tension between them was bound to settle itself once we left them alone together for a few hours.”
the others nod in agreement with minho.
“it’s not what it looks like i promise.” you say frantically.
“are you being held against your will?” chan asks.
“well yes and no,” you say, not helping your case, “i wasn’t before but now i am.”
“how is that? jisung is literally sleeping.”
“he’s not sleeping i swear, he was just talking to me before felix walked in.” you argue and, as if he were on cue, jisung snuggles you closer, resting his face in the crook of your neck. all the boys squeal and pull out their phones.
“that what so cute oh my goodness,” hyunjin says, “y/n stop moving so much we have to get pictures.”
so here you are, being forced to take pictures as you listen to jisungs silent giggles from behind your trapped body.

to be completely truthful, you were fed up of lee minho. maybe it was his cocky attitude, which to be fair, was understandable given his far too handsome face. or maybe the way he looked with ash on his calloused hands from his apprenticeship. ugh. makes you sick just thinking about him. he always seems to come up out of the blue, even when you step outside to do the simplest of chores to help your poor family. not like this time will be any different. you’d managed to make it, what, one street away from your house, before minho’s cat-like eyes found you, his prey.
“hey there. thinking of me again?” the unfortunately far too familiar voice spoke. “of course you were thinking of me. you always get such a cute look on your face when my name does as much as cross that quick mind of yours,”
“lee, you bedswerver. why don’t you run back to your master and be useful for once?” you said back, though the fluttering in your heart seems to have a differing idea of where minho should be.
“oh my sweet flower, you forget my master is off doing trade or some sorts for the next few days. it’s truly fantastic news for me, alas you don’t seem to be all that elated about it.” he reached his hand out to your shoulder, adjusting your sleeve the tiniest bit. you debate whether it’s more fit to vomit or push him away, but both seem like fair ideas. you settle with brushing his hand off, and continuing to walk to the market. minho can’t be told off that easily though. that boy doesn’t give up until he’s satisfied, which you suspect will never happen in your case. he latches onto your shoulder, following you the way a stray cat tries to find its way back home. “what’s up with you? did the miasma finally get you ill? those damned pigs, i knew they were cursed from the very beginning.”
you had to stifle a laugh. admittedly, he can be somewhat entertaining at times. “hush, minho. i think you’re the miasma here if anything. must be horrid dragging illness wherever you bring your stupidly charming face,”
“ah, so you admit i’m charming. about time you uncover the truth,”
“just accept the flattery before i take it back. you’re pushing it, lee.”
