Brunello Cucinelli AW20 Lookbook
When it comes to luxury, few other labels can come close to Brunello Cucinelli. The Italian label was the hallmark of high-end garments 10 years ago, when I started the blog, and it remains so to this days. Unlike what many others claim, Cucinelli is true luxury and this goes way beyond a steep price tag: it starts with the man behind the brand and his unique philosophy of “Humanistic Capitalism”.
Cucinelli has invested over 25 years and countless millions in restoring and perfecting Solomeo, a small hamlet where the company is based, for him and its people. After building a billionaire cashmere empire, the entrepreneur continuously reinvests in his community and its people, a rare feat in a time when most luxury labels are currently owned by financial groups who care solely about profit.
But philanthropy aside, Cucinelli has created a very distinctive aesthetic that remains Italian in essence, but imbued with worldly contemporary influences. It has managed to make suits cool again, breaking down its traditional formality and paving way for newer generations to appreciate tailoring in a more relaxed, toned down fashion. However, this concept of relaxed is rather sophisticated, with textures and a healthy dose of layering skills playing a crucial part in creating the nonchalant looks depicted above.
