“just.. just maggie.” she looked up at ezekiel and shook her head, biting down on her bottom lip. “you can just call me maggie.” she ran her fingers through her hair as she tried to keep calm. to relax, to not cry again this day for what felt like the millionth time. “no.. no. my daughter took my place for a while, but i can’t be like this forever. he wouldn’t want that.” she couldn’t even say his name, let alone go into the room they’d shared. “i’m okay. i can do this.” she stood up slowly, sniffling, but she did her best to put on the facade that she was okay. “what’s going on?”
Ezekiel was a proper man. Calling Maggie ‘Mrs. Rhee’ was part of that. But, he would address her however she wanted to be addressed. “My apologies, Maggie.” He had spoken of Maggie’s leadership role with Florence, the King being lost as to how to help Maggie in her difficult times. “Enid is a smart young woman, but may be too young to lead such a large group. I am pleased to hear you will return to your place.” He offers her a smile. He felt for her, in every way. Understood the seriousness of her loss. They would only continue to lose, a thought which brought him down. “Rick nearly lost his life at the hands of Negan.” There was clear disgust in Ezekiel’s words, whenever the leader of the Saviors was mentioned. “He has been in the infirmary for some time, unable to lead. You and I must lead all three groups,” Ezekiel places his hand on her shoulder. “We must care for all of these people.”
