Welcome to the Sanders Sides Big Bang!
The Big Bang is a challenge that encourages writers to create long stories within a certain time frame and artists to create works to pair with those stories. Basically, the fandom gets a lot of long stories and awesome art all at the same time! Every writer gets fanart, every artist gets inspiration, and everyone gets to enjoy the final product.
The Big Bang runs from February to August every year—here’s the FAQ.

Calling all Sanders Sides Event Runners: Looking ahead to 2026
The stack of pages on the calendar grow thin and the new year approaches! Some event organizers are already looking ahead to the new year and planning out their dates.

Is there a post I can read explaining what would be expected of me if I sign up as an artist?
And like an outline of times and such (like when things are and how long you have to draw)?
You bet! All the links are below, but here's the short(ish) version.
Now through May 15: Artist Choices Artists review the summaries at https://tss-storytime-summaries.tumblr.com and write those numbers in the Artist Choice form (available on the server).
May 19: Artist-Writer Matches Artists find out what story/stories they're matched with. (Some artists ask to work on only one story.)
May 19 - July 31: Art Creation Period Writers will have at least 6k of their story done by matching (with many far exceeding this). Artists and writers collaborate during this period. How many pieces artists create varies. The general guidance is the art should be about the same effort as the writer expended on the first draft. (That's super fuzzy, we know. It's literally an art and not a science. Some artists create one really detailed piece, others create a scene for every 10k words. It varies immensely.)
August 1 - August 31: Posting Month All stories and art are posted at this time on an assigned date. (We work with teams to be sure it's a date that works for both artist and writer.)
