Confessions of an art dealer

We are in the process of “thinking about” opening a permanent space. It’s been a long and tedious thought process and we still haven’t figured it out. There is zero transparency in the art world so it’s hard to do research. Also, my formal education in art is limited which makes the journey that much more intimidating. It is encouraging to think that Larry Gagosian started off selling posters on an LA sidewalk. We’ve visited many beautiful galleries in Brooklyn on our quest for knowledge. Some of our favorites:

Clearing currently has a killer Sebastian Black exhibit. 

Another highlight of our research is stumbling upon what seems like an amazing organization - NADA. They are dedicated to helping new voices in contemporary art. We’re on a mission to find out a lot more about them and see how we can sign up. If any of you know anything about them shoot us an email and let us know what you think. Well wish us luck on coming to a sound decision. I've so thoroughly enjoyed this journey either way.
