Whumpee is a muffled mess, red lines around their mouth and their cheeks pink from humiliation. Their breathing is hard against the gag and they glare up at Whumper, who grins at their catch.
The rest of Whumpee’s outfit is in disarray. Their white shirt is stained with blood and several buttons are missing. Their hair is sweaty and draped across their face and their pants are torn.
Whumpee wants nothing more than to disappear but Whumper won’t be letting go of their prize any time soon.

FAQ and Rules
What sort of content can I create for this event?
You can create whatever you want (fic, art, edits, etc). Any fandom is allowed, as well as OC stuff. NSFW is allowed, but please tag your content accordingly! The only thing not allowed is AI-generated content. You're also free to combine these prompts with the prompts of any other event.
Do I need to make 31 things to participate?
Oh heavens no! You can make as much or as little content as you like, skip days when desired, or combine prompts (so for example, write something that covers a prompt from day 1, 2, AND 3). You don't have to do the days in order either, go wild! To be considered a 'completionist', you only have to make sure that at the end of the month, you've covered 31 prompts from 31 different days, but whether you do that in 31 works or just 1 is up to you. Your works can be separate oneshots or one continuous fic, or something in-between.
How do I interpret these prompts?
Creativity is the name of the game here! If you don't understand a prompt, feel free to send us an ask about it. However, the important thing is you can interpret the prompts however you want. For example, 'heat' could be literal (fever, heatstroke, burn wounds) or figurative (somebody getting heat for something). The dialogue prompts are allowed to be slightly rewritten to fit better for the character whose mouth it's coming out of, be that the whumpee, whumpter, or caretaker. As long as you're having fun!
What are these alts about?
If none of the three prompts of a particular day are your cup of tea, you can swap them out for an alt prompt of your choice. This will count as having covered that day for completionists.
How do I tag my works and is there an AO3 collection?
It suffices to tag your work with #ailesswhumptober for us to see and reblog it! Please also tag nsfw content, since we'll be using that tag on this blog too. Tagging the day is optional but does help the mods along.

What's this I hear about badges/achievements?
For those who want an extra challenge, we come up with a set of achievements each year in addition to the 'completionist' one for you to strive for. Thought it'd add an extra layer of juicy angst to the story if they parted on such miserable terms, never getting the chance to make things right between them ever again
whumpee hears a trigger sound and suddenly they're on their knees, opening their mouth, waiting, dissociating- much to the shock and growing horror of everyone around them. or a whumper who films/photographs the abuse, and whumpee comes home to their entire team/social circle having received digital proof of whumper raping whumpee.
or a whumpee that can get pregnant gets out of captivity, and a friend/teammate ends up seeing them with a morning-after pill, knowing full-well the only one that could've touched whumpee in that stretch of time was whumper. or whumpee's shirt rides up one day and someone catches a glimpse of bite marks and hickeys on their stomach, trailing closer and closer to their waistband (especially, if whumper's super-powered or nonhuman, the leftovers marks physically could not be from anyone else other than whumper).
or whumpee is found mid-assault, or nearly immediately post-assault, with fluids stuck to their skin, maybe spilling out of them, so there's no hiding anything.
or whumpee gets taken by a whumper that had previously kidnapped a different, now-rescued teammate, and it's only when whumper abuses whumpee that whumpee realizes the same must've happened to their teammate. or, similiar vein to that, their teammate never got rescued, and whumpee's forced to listen/watch/participate in whumper's continued sexual abuse of them when whumper takes whumpee as their second victim (maybe not even for sex, so only teammate-whumpee has to suffer that).
or whumpee's teammates consist of detectives, reporters, geniuses, doctors. whumpee doesn't want to tell anyone, but their doctor is the only one they can trust with the care they need. whumpee doesn't want anyone to know, but too many of their closest friends has seen too many cases like whumpee's. their friends are too aware of the implications. of the statistics. the signs.
or whumper tells on themself, during a later confrontation, forcing whumpee between revealing that it was rape or letting their team think they willingly slept with the enemy. or whumpee isn't even there when whumper simply just... admits it to whumpee's friends. so whumpee can't defend themself in the moment.
or, again, a triggered whumpee. but with hallucinations or nightmares instead. hallucinating whumpee says things to a whumper that isn't there anymore, begging them to stop, and immediately have to reckon with the reveal when their friend brings them back to reality. a sleeping whumpee is watched over by their friend, and when whumpee starts crying and begging in their sleep, the friend taking vigil has to decide whether or not to tell whumpee that they know what really happened.

and, just like the assault itself, whumpee has no choice in that. their autonomy was stolen from them... and the only thing they had left- their privacy, the choice in who knows and who doesn't and how they say it, the only choice they have in all this mess- is quick to follow.

when i started Months in 2017, i had it all planned out, so these characters have all been developed since then. here's the Victim Lineup for the whole series. there's one story arc for each victim:
we've already met Kenton, the stupid stoner skater boi. 21 years old, held captive 21 weeks.
next is Nick. i hate him. toxic douchebag jock. 20 years old, held captive 25 weeks.
then Julian, who works a shitty job to help his family, but has his own dreams. 19 years old, held captive 23 weeks.
after that is Beau. sweet, charitable, very quiet. getting over a bad breakup. 24 years old, held captive 26 weeks.
then there's poor little Ollie, a shy talented kid at a new school who never had a chance. 15 years old, held captive 22 weeks.
last is Emory, an emo runaway who hates everyone. 17 years old, held captive 20 weeks.
i have more info about all of them in my character guide and in their respective tags. soon after emory's captivity, Weeks takes place. before lavender jumped in to help with kenton, mateo had about 20 other victims, but those ones arent really relevant to the story. they have names, though.

Accidental trauma reveal my love. When friends or enemies unintentionally discover Whumpee’s tragic background. For instance
The classic nightmare scene. Whumpee has never slept with people close by for this very reason. Unfortunately, they don’t have a choice this time, and they do, in fact, scream (or cry) in their sleep, in front of someone/everyone.
The person behind the trauma suddenly reappearing in Whumpee’s life. Whumpee losing it—running away, hiding, refusing to engage with anyone. Or even better, trying so hard to pretend they’re okay until they just. Shatter.
Truth serums, spells, and items. Flippantly asking Villain, “Why do you keep doing this?” only to get a gut-wrenching answer in return.
The mind probe. Whumpee is sick/unconscious, and someone does the magical mind probe (I swear this comes up so much in media) to figure out what’s wrong and stumbles on Whumpee’s tragic past.
Teammates unknowingly triggering Whumpee for a while until Whumpee finally just screams it out. The looks of horror.
Also shout out to intentional trauma reveals. For trusting the found family enough to tell them the things that hurt the most.
Any other tropey goodness that results in Whumpee finally getting the comfort they deserve.
