Hey everyone. It’s really hard for me to admit but I’m in a really bad place financially right now. It’s gotten so rough that I can’t afford groceries anymore. It’s just me and my mom and we are both unemployed. She got laid off a few years ago and was never able to get a stable job since and I was told to focus on my studies so I graduated college first (in November) and then poured most of my time into finding a job, but my college loans needed to get paid off and the only way to push them is if I didn’t have a job was to go to grad school. So that’s what I’m doing this August whether I want to or not (more debt…but at least I can push off the bills and hopefully still look for a job..!).
The point is, I REALLY need to be making some money. I can’t afford groceries right now and somehow before August I need to get a license (which I’ve been putting off because anxiety and money with insurance but mostly anxiety), a car, and school supplies. Not to mention paying off bills and whatnot.
So, because of all of this, I started to re-work my redbubble. I only get 20% of the shares on the products but it spreads my art around and is a means of money, potentially. I’d also like to mention that I’m a professional Graphic Designer and am looking for work, preferably around me (Cary/Apex/Raleigh, North Carolina) or remote. I’ve had commissions open before but no one’s ever taken me up on the offer. So I’m kind of at a loss there. However, If you are interested in commissioning me I can do: logos, doodles, layouts, designs, etc. (basically if you see it in my portfolio or redbubble, I can do it). And finally, I’d like to end my long tangent by saying thank you to my friends who have been really supportive throughout this ordeal, inspiring me to push forward through it all. I don’t think I could continue if I didn’t have y’all around.
EDIT 6/27: Thanks to all those that have helped thus far. I’ve made enough money to get my cats some food and almost enough to cover some groceries. I’m still severely short on rent. Also, I wanted to add that I that I do edits for commission now! Here are some examples:
