     “I’d rather be late than dead, man! Driving so recklessly…What were you thinking!?” 

     Never again will he believe Saihara when he tells him he can “get them there quicker”. Hell, he thought he had meant using back roads– not breaking the law and almost causing at least three accidents. He was going to be revoking driving privileges when they’re going out somewhere together from now on. 

“ What was I thinking?  I was mainly thinking on which driving rules are the most bendable or easiest to break without getting into trouble. ”

One would think that in being a detective, Shuuichi would always be on the ‘ right ’ side of the law at all times.  In reality, knowing the laws simply meant he knew which ones had the easiest loopholes to exploit.  

“ And if we were late, it would have made a scene! ”

     Is he going to be sick? Did he almost just have a heart attack? Are his insides absolutely rattled? Yes, yes, and yes. 

     “Never…Never get in a car with Shuuichi behind the wheel…I beg of you…”

“ Hey now. . . we were going to be late to the get-together, why are you upset? ”

Shuuichi was well aware of his rather ‘ reckless ’ driving methods, but results were results.  So what if he spend through yellow lights, zoomed through every tiny opening available, and was probably over the speed limit by 30 miles per hour.

They were finally at their destination.
