Teaser for my next comic!
‘Overwhelmed’ - Emma Bodker
This comic is based on a quote from the film Boyhood (2014). It is about switching off in the intensely social digital age.
Second animation for my 'Overwhelmed' comic.
“I just feel like there are so many things I could be doing, and probably want to be doing, that I’m just not.” (Boyhood, 2014)
This animation is part of a comic that I will be releasing this week. It is a response to the Boyhood quote above but taken out of context with the scene rewritten based solely on the quote itself.
It will be a comic about worrying so much about what you should be doing [after seeing what everybody else is doing through a constant social media feed] that as a result you end up doing nothing at all. It is a comic about switching off.
About
Threshold is an ongoing project about the importance of coming-of-age cinema. Exploring how we find comfort in film, especially when seeing a character experiencing the same feelings as ourselves.
All of the images I upload will be based on quotes from a selection of coming of age genre films.
