We've just released Morpho Converter 3.0 this morning. Took us a bit longer than we would have wanted, but it's here. Morpho 3.0 features a brand new, Liquid Glass design and icon. The interface has been given a full, modern refresh, from the keypad, to settings, widgets, and the Apple Watch app. Let's dig in.
We don't love everything about Liquid Glass. Some of it is just "fine", and some of it is problematic. Some problems Apple has already addressed, and some they have ignored thus far. Our goal for including Liquid Glass was to fit into the platform, while maintaining the simplicity of Morpho's design, and avoiding pitfalls wherever possible. It's a good sign when you end up going back to the previous version and it feels old. We think the redesign looks fresh and modern.
The keypad is the number one interaction element in Morpho. We've been considering redoing the keypad for some time, but iOS 26 pushed us over the edge. For 3.0, we started over. The amount field has moved down to be docked with the keypad, itself a pane of Liquid Glass over your conversions. The dismiss button has been relocated, which opened up room for including the reverse button without the need for additional settings. Dismissing collapses it down to a pill where you can easily restore it.
The Apple Watch app also gets the updated keypad.
Of course, all of our icon variations have received a refresh to match the system style. On macOS, that includes support for dark, clear, and tinted icons.
Introducing the new Triple Currency Widget. You can now track up to three currencies from your Home Screen.
Of course, it's also available from the Lock Screen.
And as an Apple Watch complication. Here, the first three currency conversions you have in your favorites will be used.
Of course, our existing conversion widget has also been updated to reflect the new UI design of the keypad. This keypad also now provides a reverse button, while the keypad on the small conversions widget now includes the +/- button.
If you're a long-time Morpho user you may have already noticed another change in the way conversions are presented. Previously, we would show unit abbreviations at certain window widths, and full unit names was reserved only for larger widths. This meant that, for instance, you could never see full names on iPhone.
We've changed this logic to favor full names when possible, full to unit if not, and falling back to all abbreviations only when necessary. This makes your conversions easier to find and understand.
This change is present on all platforms and in widgets. This update means that Spelled Out conversions can now fit on a single line at times.
Accessibility text sizes used to default to presenting on two lines, taking up a lot of screen real estate. These, too, now take advantage of this dynamic sizing to allow more on screen without sacrificing readability.
On Apple Watch, many conversions will also now fit on a single line, providing more conversions at a glance on your smallest screen.
You'll notice that the reverse button is now available on screen without the need for scrolling or returning to the top.
Settings have been completely rethought and reorganized. On iPad and Mac, settings now takes advantage of the screen space and provides a two-pane view for easy navigation.
We've taken import/export to the next level. Export now functions as a full backup, including conversions, custom units, settings, pinned countries, and weather locations.
Common conversions come to the Angle and Spelled Out categories. Let us know if there are other common conversions you'd find useful in these or other categories.
Angle now includes common values for right angle, straight angle, and full rotation.
Spelled Out includes the five whole numbers above and below your current entry.
New Energy unit: Milliwatt Hours
Support for dynamic window sizing on iPad
9 new Spelled Out languages: Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Telugu, Urdu
Reverse button is now available from the menu bar window on Mac
Fixed issue where some weather locations could not be found
Fixed issue where changing theme, font, or decimal places on iPhone would not immediately take effect on Apple Watch
Fixed issue where custom decimal places applying to currencies was not respected on Apple Watch
Fixed issue where a conversion may remain selected after returning to favorites
Fixed issue where importing a custom unit that references another custom unit would fail
Fixed issue where having lots of decimal places applied to currencies could make some currency conversion widgets practically unusable
Fixed issue where watchOS complication configurations would not update correctly after conversion list changes
We hope you enjoy the update. Would love to hear any feedback you have about these changes. Of course, a rating or review is always appreciated.
