I have a co worker with the last name Slaughter.

The origin of course is a families that were butchers so I see where it came from but…

Like.

If I used that as the last name for a character in a book or story people would think it’s too much? Some names just sound fake. But then my first name is kind of rare like statistically if an individual with my first name met 10,000 individuals over the course of their lifetime, they would have a 6.892% probability of meeting at least one boy and a 4.824% probability of meeting at least one girl with the same given name.

I have in fact met one boy with my name.
