“Oh yes, I’ve already heard about some of the drama. Good thing I like it.” She smiles. “I assume you stay out of it?”
“I’m not a fan. You are, though?”
“It’s alright I guess. I mean I don’t really know them that well. It is way too easy around here to just not see people.”
He nods. “They’re an interesting group but they’re not all that bad,” he says with a smile. “Yeah, that’s true until there’s drama.” He sighs. “And there’s plenty of that here.”
“Stella.” She says as she shakes his hand. “Daughter of Ares, in case you wanted you know.”
“Ares, cool. Do you like the cabin so far? Your siblings, that is.”
“Is that really something to be proud of?” She asked. “I know I wouldn’t be bragging about it.”
“I can’t exactly help it so I’ve just come to embrace it.” He’s still smiling. “It doesn’t bother me so much anymore. I’m Tucker.” He holds out his hand for her to shake.
“Duh.” Stella rolled her eyes. “Shouldn’t that be obvious by the fact you don’t know who I am?”
He rubs the back of his neck. “I don’t know a lot of people. I’m asleep eighty percent of the time.” He smiles.
“No.” Stella replied, turned to face the stranger. “I need a map or a trail of breadcrumbs to get anywhere around her.”
“Oh, you’re new?”
If Stella ever met the person who designed this camp she was going to yell at them. Once again she was lost and about five seconds away from stamping her foot in frustration. “Ugh.” She groaned.
Tucker looks at a girl he doesn’t recognize and walks over to her. “You alright?” he asks, concerned.
Cora smiles leaning her head on the refrigerator. “Red velvet cupcakes.” She hums. “Er or do you not like those cause that would be really rude of me to do something only I would eat.”
“I love red velvet cupcakes,” he says with a grin. “And if anyone doesn’t like them, I’ll eat theirs.”
She rolls her eyes and holds his shoulders. “I have the memory of an elephant. Congratulations, you’ve scarred me for life.” She then moves past him. “I wanna bake, you wanna help me?”
He grins. “So sorry.” He follows her, shrugging. “Sure, why not. What are you baking?”
She holds up her hand shaking her head. “Nope, I don’t want to hear that. That’s dangerous. Nope. I’m imagining worse case scenario now.”
He laughs. “Sorry. Just totally forget everything I said. I’ll be careful.”
Cora smiled shaking her head. “Please tell me you at least know where you end up sleeping right? It’s not like one day I’m gonna wake up and find you sleeping right on the edge of the roof of our cabin.”
“Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t.” He chuckles. “I can’t make any promises that I won’t end up there some day.”
Cora smiles walking closer and ruffles his hair. “Was it really though? I mean Hypnos cabin probably has the best beds at camp.”
“We kind of do,” he says with a smile. “But yes, the floor was comfortable. I’m ninety percent sure I could sleep anywhere, though.”
Cora walks in on our character probably doing something funny or just something she didn’t expect them to do. Covering her mouth as she giggles she leans against the door.
When Cora comes in, Tucker lifts his head up from the floor of the kitchen where he lies down. “What? I’m tired.” He stands up. “The floor looked comfortable,” he explains.
“Buy -” She stops midsentence then leans over to see what he was doing. “Oh. Well, yeah, sure.” Raine didn’t want to comment on it, mostly because she knew she couldn’t do any better. “But either decision you make - buy it or make it yourself - it’s the thought that counts right?”
He nods in agreement. “Yeah, that’s true. I mean, it’s for my mom, she’ll love it either way. I just want to make sure she knows I care, you know?”
She stops holding the apple at her side instead of putting it back on her head. “Then what Tucker? I find just shooting to be frustrating because there’s no challenge to it.”
He shrugs. “I’m sorry, I don’t know how to help you with that.”
“Or her own.” She says automatically and hands him the soft tip arrows. “Humor me, will you?” She ask as she starts to make her way back to the apple.
He sighs. “Olivia, I don’t want to do this.”
She takes that as a yes and sighs as she puts the apple down and walks back over to the soft tip arrows. “I don’t expect you to accept my answer, but I like the excitement and the adrenaline rush.”
He watches her and nods. “Oh. Yeah, I don’t really get that but to each his own.”
