❝ There are papers on them. I think my father might have written one or two about the ones he met after helping king Elessar with the eastern border disputes, but he never ventured far past the borders for obvious reason. ❞ She puts her own scrolls down on the table and sets her hands akimbo. ❝ He even met the elders of a few small tribes that lived close to the border of the Reunited Kingdom though. Not all of them were eager to share their histories with one of purely Eldar descent, but he took what he was given and put everything on paper. I’m quite certain he had copies made and distributed here, somewhere. ❞
“I suppose they’ve not made it here yet. From what I remember of tribes back ho— in the east, it may have been less of the issue of being of the Eldar and more of him being Noldor. Not much has changed, I suppose.” And her atû is neck deep in it. It worries her, honestly, and she cannot help but feel he’s throwing himself into some sort of something just to keep his mind off of the hurt. Idly she wishes she had some biscuits. “At any rate with enough digging maybe I’ll be lucky enough to find something to finish this paper with. I can’t just put down what I know since it has to be published sources. Perhaps I should’ve picked something easier, like Noldor-Teleri tensions like most of the class.”

“I’ve seen books on at least two types of Sindar, short biographies of Green-elves, a slew of them on Noldor histories and settlements through the Ages, but precious little on any of the Avari tribes.” With a huff, she sets a stack of books on the table to go through. “Am I going to have to write my own book on such subjects to be able to read about them and analyze them? If so, I fear this paper will be ridiculously late and I don’t think my professor will appreciate that.”

“My grandfather’s, I suspect. Though they are incomplete —— and written in two different hands.” He considers her briefly, and then comes the tease, difficult to catch save for the faint shadow of his dimples. “If you are impatient, I may read them aloud.”
She hides her face at the tease, much in the same way her atû once did when he was young, though she doesn’t know it. “Will you? It may be years and years before I’m able to master the Lindar tongue with enough proficiency to read them properly. And I do not know if I will be here for that long.”
