Jon was a SYMBOL. He says âI donât want the crownâ and everyone tries to push it on him because they know everyone will fight WITH him and FOLLOW him. Heâs the definition of a Figure Head.
If Jon had NOT been resurrected:
The North would not have fought with Dany;
The North would not have been prepared for the Night King;
The Free Folk would not have fought with the North against the Night King;
Everyone would have died and the world would have just ended, unless Arya was still her badass self and knifed the piece of shit.
BUT, would Jonâs (permanent) death have affected Arya in any way to change the course of events? Arya loves Jon like crazy; surely that would cause some sort of stress and she could slip up or go on a murder spree or any number of things that could have caused a butterfly effect to change the course of history.
Literally, LITERALLY, Bran says âYou weâre right where you were supposed to be.â
Everything happened for a fucking reason:
1) Because that is how stories work;
2) Because that is how HISTORY works;
3) Because Bran is the fucking Three-Eyed Raven and he fucking says so.
AGAIN, Jonâs resurrection was SUPPOSED to happen, because he was NEEDED. Doesnât matter what his end game was; he was where he was supposed to be at any given time to cause events to unfold as they did. Otherwise, you could just say the whole goddamn show was pointless because Cersei died and she was the reason for half the events happening!
GoT Season 8âs plot was perfectly logical; this is just another case of Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars Episode 1-3 where everyone is pissed because they didnât get the story/ending they WANTED. If you donât like it, wait for the books; no guarantee it will be all that different though. George R. R. Martin already laid out the major plot points to the series to the television writers. Most likely, Jon will still end up in the same spot heâs in now.
