I love how, in the novels, Shizuo and Izaya will be in conversation or battle with someone else and doing something that has nothing to do with each other, yet any little thing will set them off and they’ll start thinking about the other. Vorona approached Shizuo with a knife and stabbed him and he was like ‘oh I got stabbed. Knives stab people. IZAYA OWNS A KNIFE.’ And then was like ‘I’m gonna beat the crap outta him after this that sounds nice’. And then in another instance Izaya was like ‘I have been stabbed. Ouch I have a wound. You know who wouldn’t have been wounded by this? SHIZU-CHAN!’ Like they really are on each other’s minds 24/7.
