I thought I would have a complete abstraction, but everything turned out to be clear and on the shelves. You can see that I was inspired by Gustav Klimt… Although now I'm not sure if it's like that. The thing about Dick Grayson's status as a 'golden boy' is that it's extremely important to remember that that is how everyone else views him, not the reality, and definitely not how he views himself.

Because to others? He will always be Bruce Wayne's first protégé. He will always be the Robin that Jason tried so hard to live up to. The acrobat that Tim watched with starry eyes. The Batman to Damian's Robin. The leader of the original Teen Titans. The Boy Wonder.

But to himself? He's the Robin that Bruce couldn't stand to keep around. The boy that messed up so badly that his own name was stripped from him. Who was replaced as a protégé - as a son - time and time again. Who couldn't save his parents. Who wasn't around to even try to save Jason. Who lead his team of heroes - his team of children - into danger. Who is always one misstep alway from utter destruction.

And reality? He's volatile. Angry. He always has been, and he thought it would ease but its only gotten easier to hide. He's also a hero though. And he loves deeply and unabashedly. Its just a shame that all that love gets blocked up in the five layers of walls he's had to haphazardly construct over the years. He's a mess. But he's trying. Because he doesn't know how to stop.
