the rain hadn't even started when the two of them were going for a walk, mostly because he wanted to CLEAR his head. a lot of things like his own family and what was going to be his future. roman was definitely trying be a DIFFERENT person than the day he told her there was nothing between them, not that his words spoke about it. maybe he was thinking of what he was say to. he did, however, place his arm around her shoulder.

it was fifteen minutes in the walk when it started to rain when he looked around for the place to hide from the rain. the tall samoan rushed both of them to a umbrella. he started CHUCKLING from the way mary's strands hair was starting to stick. "i thought my hair was crazy." he lifted his hand to push hair away from her face with a smile forming on his lips

he leaned down to press a LOVING kiss against her lips, placing his hand on his cheek as he placed his arm around her. he was trying to change what was going on between them, even if it was hard for him change the way he was acting. he didn't know he could CHANGE like she must want him to change, something he would not to do. he knew his mother would be DISAPPOINTMENT with the way he was treated mary.

She would've said something in response if she hadn't caught him in her peripherals walking off, back to where everyone else was in the ballroom still. A shaky breath leaving her, a heavy feeling in her chest as she looked at her phone again through bleary eyes as the tears started falling again but she made no sound. Stepping out of her heels and gathering them up into her hand, standing up tall and turning to walk calmly through the long hallway towards another exit where the friend that spotted her and their cameraman were waiting in a van. No questions were asked about what she was even doing there, or what had even been happening when she was spotted.

Mary was dropped off at a corner near a side entrance of the hotel, so she could avoid the lobby entirely and not be questioned by any staff if she was okay or anything. She wanted quiet, no looks for walking in with her heels in her hand and just … she didn't even really know right now.

Only thing she did know is that he wanted to continue the conversation. Why? Her overreaction had essentially ruined the night but no, nope clearly she was in for a lecture. Because the way he had said just remember this is not over was a direct statement that he had more to say. And that she just had to sit, listen and respond whenever spoken to. Even the thought of that made her roll her eyes as she stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the floor she was staying on. Rummaging around in her purse for her wallet to retrieve the keycard, once the doors opened and she stepped out onto the floor ?  She lingered there for a few minutes, just breathing as dark and reddened eyes looked around before her feet carried her the rest of the way. 

It was auto pilot for the next few minutes, maybe longer. Get changed into comfy clothes, wash her face, hair in a ‘low energy’ style, and pack because she wasn't going to stay until check-out tomorrow. 

She had just opened her room door when the elevator opened and a member of the hotel staff emerged, carrying a bottle and glanced towards her. It was if she just knew from that look who that bottle of Southern Comfort was for, and then the strangest thing happened? The staff member walked over and handed her the bottle, speaking quietly to her as he did. ‘I trust entirely that you know where to deliver this.’ And before she could try to protest?! The hotel staff member was back in the elevator and she sighed, looking down at the bottle and then back over her shoulder to her suitcase that was perched and waiting to be brought to her vehicle. Another sigh as she let the room door shut behind her, tucking her wallet into the pocket of the sweatpants she had on and proceeded to walk. She frowned a little bit and then reached up with her free hand to gingerly knock on his room door. The expression on her face remained sullen, as she waited for him to answer. The weight of the silence, standing there and knowing he still wanted to continue the conversation… rightfully so had her on edge but she did not flee. 

Mary just stood there, whistling faintly to try and ease her nerves while lifting a hand to knock on the door one more time. Dressed in a soft green sweatsuit, low top dunks and hair up in loose pigtails. The most low energy vibe she's ever given off.

roman did not apologize often about how he was cruel to someone who didn't deserve it. should he apology? yes! would he do it? no. he was done being the nice guy because people WALKED all over him too many times in the past. but this was not just anyone he has come across any given day. this was someone he FLIRTED with, spent a night with being INTIMATE with. yet, he felt the need to be cold to because he was trying not to let anyone in. he didn't tell anyone about what he said to mary or they would of said he was in the wrong.

his own thoughts lead him to stand up from where he was sitting to the fridge where there was alcohol beverage of his CHOICE waiting. he only wanted to be drinking the best after all. he grabbed the first bottle he could get his hands on which was not wine or champagne, water. he poured the liquid inside of the glass and took a long sip of it. that was when he heard the knock on the door that DISTURBED the silence inside of the room.

the tribal chief was about to swing the door open and give the person a piece of his mind, then it did not take him long to remember the conversation he had with mary in the hallway of the event. he CUSSED himself as he wanted to be alone. he placed the glass down on the night table and walked to the door. he turned the knob and swung the door open to face the music of what is to come.

the samoan's brown hues looked down to see her not only was standing there with red eyes, but his alcohol beverage he DEMANDED when he entered the hotel. he gently took the bottle from her before moving to the side. once she stepped inside the threshold of the room, he closed the door and locked it with a click noise.

"i need a drink before we even talk."
