My unbelievable Tea Roses! simply elegant! I am so happy with how resilient they have been! Regardless of how little I know about roses!

Now my heirloom purple tomatoes are coming into season! Just look at those beautiful fall colors!

First batch of tomatoes in from the garden and I could swear that the deep red tomatoes with the golden stripe taste like sunshine. There is nothing like a homegrown tomato!

Pickled up some cucumbers and had to put food dye in to remember which flavors were which when they came out of the canner. Who knows maybe rainbow pickles will be a thing :)

A beautiful lily I forgot I planted has bloomed and I swear it is the most stunning of all my flowers. Just goes to show that life can manifest it’s wonders in unexpected ways!

Absolutely thrilled that our makeshift cucumber arch is still holding, and I learned that ducks like cucumbers!

I may be a bit biased, but I feel I have the most handsome rooster around, and he has a beautiful singing voice.

Goodmorning!

First day of Tumblr blog and already I feel like I am behind. As an introduction I am going to talk about anything and everything really. I am trying to turn a weed patch into a thriving farm and so far I’ve managed to convince one of my chickens that she is a dog and the Illinois weather is trying to drown my ducks. I have succeeded in growing tomatos in my weed patch and cucumbers are on the way!
