I’ve always liked how different artists design their characters in their own ways. And now, at last, I have my own more-or-less fleshed-out Elves.

I don’t like hiding beautiful long hair in the same few hairstyles, so in different artworks I’ll change them.

I also wanted to note why some of them aren’t wearing diadems — and here’s why:

✨ Fëanor, of course, won’t leave the house without royal regalia. Nerdanel deliberately doesn’t wear hers openly — she is free from the passions of her husband’s family. Maedhros — a copper circlet, simply according to canon. Celegorm is a hunter, and a diadem would simply be uncomfortable for him. Ambarussar are also free spirits — they wear one only when their father hits them.

On the other side are Caranthir and Curufin. With the latter it’s clear — he’s his father all over, his pride and favourite son. With Caranthir it’s more complicated. I originally drew all of them “before the Flight”, but I drew Caranthir as I see him after he has acquired wealth — with a diadem, gold in his hair, and piercings. I love him
