Performance presented on May 16, 2026 at Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil (CDMX) as part of the program “Planta Baja / Colisiones con lo Sonoro,” curated by Malitzin Cortés and Rogelio Sosa.

Together with Julia Barrios de la Mora, we developed a piece exploring the relationship between body, territory, and generative organisms using StreamDiffusion.

The choreography was constructed through microphone feedback, voice, mime, and bodily displacement, generating a dialogue between physical presence and constantly mutating visual processes.

Turning Torso reexamines the significance of texture in an age overwhelmed by visual stimuli, positioning it as a vessel for exploring transfiguration, and the boundaries of artificial reality. Through a synthesis of digital processes and 3D printing, these works transform earthy tones, gradients, and tactile forms into immersive fields of sensory exploration. Each piece suggests that texture holds traces of the past, evokes potential futures, and invites viewers to inhabit a temporality of touch.

Myth Sequencer by Turning Torso is a generative web-based artwork that explores the poetics of decay and renewal through shifting gradients, Euclidean rhythms, and ephemeral text fragments. Radial color fields pulse with algorithmic irregularity as phrases like “Rivers learn new names” surface and dissolve, suggesting transient mythologies born from the fusion of code and nature. Blending jazz-tinged synthesis with dub-techno percussion, the piece offers a meditative space where digital systems evoke organic transformation—rendered through light, frequency, and the ghost of language.

The pyrotechnic installation lit at Casa Naila’s beach during MDF Mexico Design Fair 2024 opening night was developed in a collaboration between audiovisual artist and producer David Sánchez aka Turning Torso, and the fireworks workshop of the Martínez family from Salamanca, Guanajuato. · Candela Espectro is the title of the piece that celebrated the fusion of intricate geometry of traditional Mexican textiles with the ephemeral and technical fascination of pyrotechnic ‘castillos’.

Turning Torso’s project featured two rows of diagonal modular towers as structure of the pyrotechnic assembly. When lit, they were transformed into a spectacle of light and color, playing with the audience’s visual perception.

Candela Espectro also included a musical dimension: a composition that evoked the sounds of nature and the euphoria of festivities. The lighting of this installation was definitely one of the most special moments of MDF’s opening night.
