Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles Episode 10 Thoughts

Ye Lan (Idy Chan) finally confronts Arthur (Damien Lau) about the affair between him and Chi-Kwan (Tavia Yeung). The typical female response would be that Ye Lan would oppose between this affair, similar to his other wives. Instead of opposing this, Ye Lan suggests to Arthur that he and Chi-Kwan should be together. She believes that she's not worthy enough to give Arthur complete happiness. A woman like Chi-Kwan who really loves Arthur may give him the happiness that he desires from Ye Lan.

Through this heart-to-heart conversation, Arthur makes another point. If Ye Lan says this, does that mean that she doesn't love him as much? Personally, Arthur may be right. Ye Lan may love Arthur just as his other wives, but she feels guilty. Her first true love Chai Yat Fai (Ben Wong) has been lingering in her heart for twenty-four years. She constantly reminisces those teenage moments, and she regrets how she mistreated Yat Fai. Honestly, I do support Ye Lan x Yat Fai because even though so many years passed, they do somehow love each other. But I still think the tension between Ye Lan and Arthur makes this "soap opera" more interesting.

Arthur vows to Chi-Kwan that he will not love another woman. Let's see how this plays out when JJ comes out.

Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles Episode 9 Thoughts

Another controversial scene has been shown. This is the second week of Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles, and Damien Lau has done a good job with being the seducer. Sir Arthur Chung (played by Damien Lau) is frustrated by the disputes with Ye Lan (Idy Chan) about the "new man in town." Arthur invites Hong Chi-Kwan into his private home for a one night stay. Chi-Kwan thought she has finally captured a part of Arthur's heart, until she realizes that Arthur is in fact in love with Ye Lan no matter what happens.

Interestingly, Ye Lan already knows that Arthur is never loyal to one woman (she doesn't feel jealous, rather, she feels that it is expected).

A job well done between Damien and Tavia. That biting-kissing scene is a scene that took a lot of work. It's rather intimate, and I must say there may be some housewives that would disapprove of this. For now, let's see how this drama turns out!

Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles Episode 7 Thoughts

Yat Fai (Ben Wong) delivered a moving speech to this audience. He said that he became the man he is today, thanks to the will to survive through everything. He could have died on that day when the cave crumbled down, leaving his supervisor and him stranded. There was no food; he tried to comfort his supervisor, saying that they can make it alive even though Yat Fai was up to his limit. However, Yat Fai remembered what Ye Lan gave him as a gift, and he remembered that he had someone in Shanghai that he needs to give happiness towards. Using that small hope, he managed to survive. Ye Lan heard his speech, and cried. Her tears have shown her position in her crowd and Yat Fai saw where she was.

Although Ye Lan says that she doesn't love Yat Fai anymore, I think that it's very difficult for someone to forget his/her first true love. I wonder the direction of drama will take place. I feel that Yat Fai might be a better choice for Ye Lan because Yat Fai never forgot about her even after she got married. We shall see in the next episode! Stay tuned!
