Vox wants recognition, Alastor wants safety, Valentino wants love. I can't wait for season 4 to shine light on Velvette's vulnerability issues and how wretchedly she wants control, to protect herself, to thrive, to rise. She has a vicious hunger for violence that gets so overlooked in the fandom. It reflects an inner frustration that results with her curt, volatile attitude and proclivity to tear other people down while making herself untouchable. If we thought the first three were bad, she's going to be even more terrifying.

This is a piece for @ faeymouse ‘s Bartender Vox Week! This is for day 1: The Deal 👀 (Idk if she has a tumblr but you can find her and this AU on insta!!)

In Faey’s Bartender Vox AU, Alastor rejects Vox, and instead of giving in he doubles down and offers his soul so Alastor won’t leave him. Per the deal, Alastor won’t leave Vox, but Vox isn’t allowed to change; everything from his CRT head to his clothing has to remain the same (if I recall correctly)! Because we all know how Alastor feels about anything modern 👀 Vox becomes Al’s bartender, while Husk remains a powerful overlord and becomes the head of the Vees. In the caption of Faey’s piece for Day 1: “The Deal,” she said she likes to think that after Al’s rejection at the bar, Vox breaks into a showtune musical number called “Best Bet” where he tries to convince Alastor why taking his soul is his best bet for success. 🤭

This piece is my interpretation of what happens right after said musical number (Vox is still on his knees from his big finish, lol. Jazz hands)! The way I interpreted the song is that Alastor would be acting irritated & trying to turn away from Vox for the whole time as he tries and tries to convince him. But at the very end this scene would happen, and we’d realize that perhaps Alastor was actually on board as soon as Vox’s soul was on the table. And Vox is realizing that here as well, that maybe he’s been played and he’s uncertain what Alastor has in store for him- but he wouldn’t have changed his actions anyway LOL.

Not sure if my interpretation actually lines up with Faey’s ideas exactly, but it’s what I had in mind for this piece!!

I’m a bit behind on Bartender Vox Week due to a busy weekend & some health issues, so I’ve no idea if I’ll draw a piece for each day but! This was super fun and I hope I get a few more in at least!! Hope you enjoy this Faey, I love your work 😁
