literally my exact thoughts. i was thinking about the episode the day after i watched it and i was reading other people’s perspective on it and it just hit me like. there’s no one from the core four ending it with him. for the longest everyone tried to get danny to love hawaii, “it grows on you”, just for when he considers it as his home.. everyone that you can say he started with are gone.

tani (i adore their friendship), junior, and lou are all special people but it isnt the same.

as a very big fan of himym and a hater of the series finale (swarkles 😞), and it might just be because im upset rn but the last 5 minutes of the 5-0 finale is genuinely up there with himym for me.

like wow don’t get me wrong i knew about the about ending before i started the show (danny hurt, catherine coming back) but i didnt know the deep details. i didnt expect it to be that bad. how do you dedicate an entire episode to basically two people just to go back on it in the same breath. and in the worst way possible.

his ending consisting of someone who broke his heart is just not something i can get with and id feel that way still even if mcdanno wasn’t a thing. i genuinely wouldve accepted it if steve just went by himself (or not left at all but)

my emotions are really all over the place. like im trying not to look at steve leaving as “how could he leave danny” because he deserves peace and time away if that’s what he feels he needs to be himself again but i don’t like the constant talk about them growing old together and watching sunsets when that’s not canon… you know? like idk if that makes sense but it’s like. that was the series finale. that was the end. we can make up theories all we want, yeah that’s how a fandom works but we don’t really know for certain if steve ever decided to come back. and i hate that so much. i hope that makes sense and it isn’t took in the wrong way. it’s currently 3am as im typing this.

i love this show though, genuinely. so im not gonna let the series finale or the season as a whole make me forget about the other great episodes or mcdanno moments we got.

this is long so. yeah. this is just my initial thoughts on the finale. maybe when i decide to rewatch the show like 2 months from now it’d be different but for now…

this was my highlight of the episode

the whole day he was pretending he was fine, getting through it just because he needs a distraction but at the end, he turned to the one person he knows he can trust with every part of him. that is….

first he hears his dad murdered over the phone, joe white dies in front him and then his mother is murdered also in front him… steve is so strong because wow. that is a lot on just one person including the fact that joe and doris’ death are back to back.

on a lighter note though, the last scene with danny was so needed. when steve asked why was he in washington it reminded me so much of “i can’t believe you flew all this way” 🥹 also the “theres only one bed” trope and danno asking was it big enough to fit two people… yeah. i love their relationship so bad

this whole danny and rachel storyline is bugging me so bad. i need it to end expeditiously because i get the ick every time it’s on my screen 😭 even if i don’t think about mcdanno… considering the person danny is, theres no way im supposed to believe he is open to a relationship again. (when did he and ambelissa even break up this is sending me so bad)

mcdanno pancakes scene was the best part of the episode btw 🙂‍↕️

i wish i could take back the 40 minutes i just spent watching 9x11 back. i thought i was gonna get some good mcdanno scenes, meaningful conversations or SOMETHING considering that joe literally died. no, no just catherine shoved down my throat including the whole “married” thing. also knowing that danny isn’t in like 5 episodes per season and they decided to use one of his episodes on THAT…. i need a break
