A lot of people ask what a personal training session of mine entails, so I thought I’d give you a glimpse! I do an assortment of exercises like this twice a week (the routines always vary), and then I usually run or spin the other four days of the week.
Important to note that I did NOT do this from the very beginning. I only walked for the first five months, then got into classes, then running, and then the gym. I only started strength training in May of this year.
Also good to know that we are all different and you should always consult a trainer before doing a strength training routine in order to learn proper form and avoid injury! :)
THE SESSION:
Foam roll (legs, hips, lats)
Dynamic warm up
Box jump, 8 reps, 4 sets
Burpee, 8 reps, 4 sets
Mountain climbers, 30 reps, 4 sets
Squat to throw, 16 lb medicine ball, 12 reps, 3 sets
Tricep dip, 12 reps, 3 sets
Step up and over, 20 reps, 3 sets
Walking lunges, 15 pounds each side, 8 reps, 3 sets
Dead bugs, 16 reps, 3 sets
Plank, 30 seconds, 3 reps
Cool down stretch
