Here’s the structure that most American films use. Learning this may change the way you watch films (it did for me). It’s a structure as old as time and storytellers have been using it for thousands of years. Joseph Campbell called it the monomyth or Hero’s Journey....
University administrators lap up the rags to riches/underdog/i know i am rich but i really want to save the world shit. Not proud to say this got me into law school after a 6-year detour...

What's up with "despite" and "in spite of"? (And "although," "though," and "even though"?)
In spite of, despite, although, though, and even though all mean the same thing.
1. “Though,” “although,” and “even though”
2. “In spite of” and “despite”
“In spite of“ and ”despite“ do not have to be used at the beginning of a sentence, e.g., “Touka decided to go for a walk despite / in spite of the snow.”
Similarly, although, though, and even though don’t have to be used at the beginning of a sentence, e.g., “Touka decided to go for a walk although / though / even though it was snowing.”
