On Next-Gen Remakes
I keep hearing people (Especially in games media) talking about how they are tired of all of these "HD ultimate edition remakes" or games from last generation, but I gotta say that I completely disagree with that sentiment.
I never had a PS3. I was actually fairly late to last generation just because of where I was in life. I went with a 360 because I wanted to play with my friends. By the time I was at a point that buying a Playstation 3 was feasible, we were already hearing rumors about the next generation of consoles. With the PS4 announcement around the corner, and a healthy supply of games I still wanted to get through on my 360, I felt like I couldn't justify bringing a PS3 into my life. I definitely plan on purchasing both consoles this generation, but with backwards compatibility out of the picture, missing out on the PS3 meant accepting that I would never get to play many of the games that were so highly regarded by my peers, such as the Last of Us.
Enter the remakes. Now, I have the opportunity to play games that I otherwise wouldn't. There's also a bonus for early adopters: My friend never picked up Tomb Raider when it first came out. He was also pretty starved for content on his shiny new Xbox One. When the definitive edition came out, he got the chance to play through a wonderful game he otherwise would have missed, and he got something to fill the gap until more substantial new games start coming out.
A lot of people don't want or need these remakes, but there is an audience for them.

PvZ: Garden Variety DLC
I check out the first DLC for PvZ: Garden Warfare, Garden Variety, which involves exploring the new Chomp Town map, and playing a few rounds of the new Gnome Bomb game mode.
Card Hunters is the flash game I never knew I wanted
Alright guys, let me tell you about this new game called Card Hunter.
It's basically D&D, but as a card game. You play just like a real tabletop game, with your characters and the enemies on a grid-based dungeon, except all of your actions are based on card draws. The twist is that the cards each character has are based on the gear that character is wearing. For instance, if I have on some leather boots, they add a couple of movement cards to my deck. As your characters level up, they can wear more gear, and as you go on quests you'll find better gear in the form of loot. The story is clever and full of humor, and the gameplay is challenging and fun. If you've ever played a tabletop game, you'll instantly fall in love with this game's presentation.
It's a free, in browser game developed by Blue Manchu (They've got folks from games such as BioShock, System Shock 2 and Magic the Gathering).
It's actually free to play. There is a monetization aspect, but it's just for aesthetic customization and extra loot. I haven't dropped a dime and I haven't hit a paywall yet.
It's Flash based, which means your computer can handle it.
You can sign up for the game and try it out for free at www.cardhunter.com.
