This is it. The finish line in sight. 16 weeks ago when @TAGHeuer offered to sponsor my entry into the TCS New York City Marathon, I thought I was too old, too heavy and too out-of-shape to be ready in time. But little-by-little, step-by-step, 5 days of running a week, every week, short runs, fast runs, slow, long - I somehow, someway, made it to this moment and now I'm feeling excited and anxious and grateful to be running the greatest marathon in the world alongside my buddy @chrisozer. Tomorrow. 26.2. We got this!

Just about 7 weeks from the #TCSNYCMarathon and the training runs are suddenly much longer. It's been helpful to track my distance on my @tagheuer Connected Watch. So far I'm happy with the way these 41-year-old legs have responded. I've rediscovered my deep affection for the open road, how concise my thoughts become around mile 10, and my confidence grows that I'll be ready by November. #dontcrackunderpressure #Ad (at Shelter Island)

It's been more than 5 years since my last marathon and at age 41 I can think of lots of reasons why I wouldn't run 26.2 miles, but when @tagheuer offered to sponsor my entry in the 2016 New York City Marathon I realized I was out of excuses. Now I find myself up before dawn, dodging potholes and racing the Q train. I'm putting in the hard miles - nearly every day because I want to prove to myself that I can cross that finish line this November.
