of course she had been excited when she saw her brother. hero and augustus had always been the closest of the goddard children, and even with all the time they had been separated, that never changed. running out to greet him, she nearly stops right in her tracks as she sees his friend there, an old ( though never retired ) crush resurfacing as her cheeks began to warm. “you didn’t tell me you were bringing anyone” she replies, shooting him an glare only she could put so much energy. facing them, hero gives a small smile, “not that i’m complaining. it’s just sometimes auggie’s comunication skills are painfully awful.”
ALISTAIR had the decency to look sheepish, lifting his right hand to his temple in a sort of salute. he had told augustus that maybe it wasn’t a good idea to bring him along to meet hero – even if augustus had no problem with the girl and found her rather cute, best friend’s younger sister or no – and maybe calling her ahead of time would be the lesser of two evils. “i told him to call you, but no one listens to me. you look good, hero.” good was an understatement but he wasn’t about to bring down brotherly wrath on what was shaping out to be a good day.
