she performs as this woman who we see mostly in fiction, you know the type, the one who is a little bit older, a little insecure, has dated THAT asshole, has dates a lot of assholes, emotionally abused, she is the one who thought she found the one, only for him to have stood her up, rejected, her self esteem too low, hopeless romantic but being told she is too needy, desperate to be loved, her cries and laughter, are so chilling.
Jyou has the ability to not just sing words but perform worlds! Anata is such a case she is not in character only live, but in the studio version as well.
she waited and waited at the bar drinking, waiting for him to show up to tell her he loves her, even if it’s just another lie from him, to have his way with her and then dispose her like a napkin. But he never came, she leaves the bar she goes back to her place, takes off her heels, she had dressed up so nicely only for him, but now she feels like a caricature, she looks in the mirror blaming herself, her supposed unattractiveness, her age, that stupid dress. Then she cries, and then she laughs at the audacity of all of these. she thinks she deserves the rejection, she had heard it so many times before that she was not worthy of love, and only the lover at the time was loving her.
