I will never say that people who fetishize fat people or trans people are like universally harmless but acting as though the problem is with a specific inherently harmful type of person rather than a set of harmful behaviors does the entire conversation around these desire politics a huge injustice. is the root of the problem and myriad abuses really that Deviant People Want Them too much, or are you, personally, grossed out by stigmatized bodies and call any open intentional attraction to them harmful because you don’t want to have to see it? can we acknowledge that finding people attractive, or even actively preferring and pursuing people like them over others, is not some kind of red flag or mark of sin?

As a lesbian i will always relate more to trans women than cishet women. Made to feel disgusting and predatory in women's spaces? Check. Berated and mocked for our relation to sexuality and womanhood? Check. Hated for our "deviancy from the norm"? Check. to posit that someone who begins transition (changing medically, socially, whatever) and then decides that they are unhappy with their new specific presentation, reception, body, &c. and chooses to make new changes in light of that realisation is "detrans/detransitioned" implies a 'one way only' theory of transition--that there a hegemonic, ur-body that one can progress further from or closer to against which all presentations are measured--& that there is always a potential 'reversion' to 'normal' within every transition that consists of bringing your presentation and body in line with what is expected from your assigned sex at birth, which is fundamentally different to making these changes in any other direction because it presents some sort of return (retvrn, perhaps!)

I do sort of think the way drag queen characters are used in a lot of Queer Media is really OFF, in a similar way to how it would be OFF if your diverse cast of characters included Sproingo the Clown, who's a clown 100% of the time, always fully in character as the clown, and this is just not remarked upon by anyone, as if Clown is a distinct type of person and not a performance put on by the actual real person who's playing the role
