Hero of Bombs - The Depths

I’ve been doing a lot of exploring in the Depths, seeing as all three pieces of Link’s iconic green outfit (Cap, Tunic, & Trousers of the Wild) are found down there.

This would be the main times Link & Ingo would travel as a pair, & is the best place to gather Poes & restock on Bomb Flowers. It would also be the only place Ingo would encounter Cinder (Chandelure) until after he becomes the Sage of Spirit (had a lot of changes to that whole storyline - more on that later, as I plan to make a little series of drawings).

I doodled some small moments of them down there that’ll become a few little comics. But first, have Ingo musing on a Poe’s gentle blue glow…

Ingo (& very rarely, isekaied me) would gently descend down on a hot air balloon while Link just dives & paraglides down. They’d pack a supply of Sunny foods (lots of Gloom down there) & Brightbloom seeds to light the way, & venture into the darkness…

I’ve shared how I find The Depths to be a very strange & strangely beautiful place, covered in mycelium & throwable flora you don’t find growing anywhere else. Some of the ones I featured do grow in caves on the Surface, but some like the Muddle Bud or Puffshroom only grow in the deepest darkness.

The Lightroots help illuminate this otherwise pitch black space. They’d camp there for a meal, restore any Hearts they lost to the Gloom, & when they’re done, head back up where isekaied me is waiting. ☀️
