just won a game of yarn chicken (waxed linen thread chicken) so stressful that I'm too upset to even celebrate
one post for the most recently finished lace shawl now that she's off the boards! I didn't take too many process photos of this one because it worked up so fast (roughly 2 weeks from start to finish, but I do have some on ravelry here.)
This was also my first beaded shawl! I think I got the hang of how to add them during this project, so that was really neat. Overall this was a smaller project, but quite fun.

I can't keep knitting the sweater until I ply more of the white yarn. I don't want to fight with plying on my cantankerous rickety wheel, I want to mindlessly knit colorwork. I can't knit until I ply. Surely there's a way around this that involves magic instead of plying.
Are any of y'all participating in NaKniSweMo?
Explanation:
Knitting a sweater in a month can be daunting for even the most skilled of knitters, but NaKniSweMo—National Knit a Sweater in a Month—is a challenge more knitters are embracing. The movement was actually inspired by another intimidating movement, National Write a Novel in a Month, which is also in November, according to Lisa Krack, owner of Darn Yarn Needles and Thread in Harmony. “That idea was to write a novel of 50,000 words, so someone thought it would be fun to have a challenge of knitting a sweater of at least 50,000 stitches,” Krack explained.

The biggest lie I tell myself is “one more episode and one more row” because they never match up, so one more episode to finish this row, and then one more row to finish this episode.
