Octavius replies back in quick Mermish groaning inwardly that he seemed to have forgotten the whole common language. This would prove to be challenging, but he’s laughing with her. He watches Dorcas’s interactions with RDJ with a toothy grin. He slurs his own language making it sound more barbaric than normal outside the water. Then he could slowly feel mixed common words swing into his mind. “I…uh…” He chuckles and squeaks trying to form the words properly. “RDJ lalala.” He points to the duck and then to the both of them, and finally points to the stage. “we lalala with RDJ.” He tries to drunkenly clarify.
He was pretty sure Reggie had been up on stage multiple times during the night, so them going up with the duck wouldn’t be bad. But what would they sing? RDJ likes the sound of his own quacking, and Octavius can barely remember English. However he was confident they could do great karaoke, especially the duck. Combing one of his fee hands through his unkempt hair and fastening his glossy gaze at Dorcas. Did she even understand what he was insinuating they needed to do?
It seemed as though Octavius had just completely forgotten the English language. Which, in all fairness, Dorcas had rambled for a solid five minutes in Chinese earlier before someone had mentioned to her that she wasn’t, in fact, speaking English. But as far as she could tell, Oct was just using straight up gibberish. This was not normal human speech patterns. Hell, she didn’t know what to classify it as. But she also didn’t question it, either. She wasn’t one to call someone out for their drunken antics.
She did manage to get the idea of what he was trying to say, but as she stood back up, the duck in her arms and her head nuzzling lightly into his feathers, she could only chuckle a little. “I dunno. I think he would be better off without the two of us as backup. I mean, I’m wasted, pretty sure I’ve lost my singing voice at this point, and you’re barely even speaking English.” She glanced down at the duck, who quacked happily up at her again, making her grin. “Yep, your daddy is wasted. Don’t you worry, though, buddy. I’ll make sure he doesn’t do anything silly. Yep, I missed you, too, buddy.” Eyes twisting back to Octi, she offered a bit of a shrug. “It’s almost midnight, anyway. The countdown will happen soon. I bet they’ll have fireworks outside if you want to take a stroll, the cool air might help you sober up a bit.”
